WHAT CAN AN UPPER NECK PROBLEM FEEL LIKE? 🧠💻
That area right where your neck meets the base of your skull can take a lot of load — particularly with long hours at a desk, sustained postures, stress and training.
At Awaken Chiropractic, we assess the upper cervical and occipital region for changes in joint movement, muscle tension and function.
Some of the things people may report when this area is irritated or not moving comfortably include:
• Neck pain or stiffness
• Tightness at the base of the skull
• Headaches, particularly those associated with the neck
• Dizziness and feeling unsteady on your feet
• Reduced or uncomfortable neck movement
• Tender, tight muscles through the upper neck
• Discomfort that can extend towards the shoulders or upper back
• Feeling particularly stiff after prolonged computer or desk work
In this video, Dr Andy Crozier is performing an occipital lift — a skilled chiropractic adjustment used when clinically appropriate following assessment.
With over 22 years of experience, Andy works with many people balancing demanding jobs, stress, family life and regular training.
The goal isn’t simply to “crack a neck.” It’s to assess the individual, understand what’s contributing to their presentation, and determine the most appropriate care for them.
Getting headaches or noticing that persistent tension at the base of your skull?
It may be worth having your neck assessed.
