Let me share a story from last night. 🕯️❤️**

Last night, we came together to pay tribute to the victims of the devastating floods in Nepal on 26 August 2026, and to stand with the families and friends who have lost loved ones or are still waiting for news.

I was initially a little reluctant to hold the event. I wasn't sure whether the local community or business leaders would support the cause. But we decided that even if only a few people came, lighting a candle and showing that we cared would still mean something.

A few families arrived to donate, and among them was a retired cricketer who quietly joined us. After our opening tribute, he became emotional and began to cry. He shared that his uncle and aunty were still missing, and that he had come after seeing RRIC's post about the candlelight tribute.

That moment brought tears to my eyes.

Ordinary people came forward and donated, prayed and stood beside people they may never have met before. It reminded me that we should never underestimate the power of supporting our community. Sometimes it can be as simple as lighting a candle, sharing a meal, saying a prayer or simply being present — even in a little local pub.
