Children’s Week 2026 | Every Child Belongs 🌏
⁣
As Children’s Week comes to a close, we’re reflecting on the importance of creating play spaces where every child feels welcome, valued and represented.
⁣
Guided by this year’s theme, inspired by Article 30 of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, we’re reminded that every child has the right to use their own language, celebrate their culture and practise their religion.
⁣
🌿 So, what does this mean for play?
⁣
It means designing inclusive spaces and play equipment that reflect the diverse communities around us, celebrate different cultures and foster a meaningful connection to Country. It means creating environments where children can explore, learn from one another, develop a sense of belonging and see their own identities reflected in the world around them.
⁣
Playgrounds are more than places to play. They’re spaces where communities connect, friendships grow and children develop an understanding and appreciation of the people, nature and cultures around them.
⁣
At Nature Play Solutions and LyPa, we believe every child deserves the opportunity to play, explore and thrive in spaces where they feel they belong.

Set along the beautiful Swan River in East Perth, Mardalup Park is a fantastic place for children to get outdoors, explore and embrace a little adventure.
⁣
From climbing and balancing to testing their limits on the playground, spaces like these that hold a lot of play value, encourage children to build confidence, develop physical skills and discover what they're capable of through play.
⁣
With the river as a backdrop and plenty of opportunities for active, outdoor fun, it's a must visit for families in Perth 🌊🌳

How do we keep children safe while still allowing them to take healthy risks?
⁣
This is such an important conversation for anyone involved in children’s play, education and outdoor learning.
⁣
We’re pleased to support Play Australia as international experts come to Perth to deliver two workshops exploring risk in children’s play.
⁣
For schools and educators, it can be a tricky balance. Of course, keeping children safe is a priority but when we remove every element of challenge, uncertainty and risk from children’s environments, are we also removing valuable opportunities for them to develop confidence, resilience, problem-solving skills and the ability to assess risk for themselves?
⁣
Sometimes, the safest environment isn’t necessarily the one with the least risk, it’s the one where children can learn to navigate risk safely.
⁣
These workshops are a great opportunity to hear from international experts and explore how we can create play environments that are both safe and genuinely challenging, engaging and beneficial for children.
⁣
⁣
👏 Well done to Play Australia (IPA Australia) for bringing this expertise to Perth.

Located on Tanunda Drive in Ascot, Bilya Kard Boodja Lookout is a special place celebrating the area’s Noongar heritage and its connection to the Swan River.
⁣
Unveiled in 2015, the lookout takes its name from three Noongar words:
⁣
Bilya – river
Kard – hill
Boodja – land or country
⁣
Sitting on the highest piece of land along the Swan River within the City of Belmont, the lookout provides visitors with an opportunity to connect with the landscape, history and natural environment of the area. 🌿
⁣
Nature Play Solutions and LyPa were proud to contribute play elements that complement this unique setting, creating opportunities for children to explore, climb, challenge themselves and engage with the surrounding environment.

The recently upgraded Gibbon Crossing offers visitors an immersive experience into the world of these captivating and rare primates. Making clever use of vertical space, the new habitat gives the gibbons more room to do what they do best, swing, climb and sing! 🌿
⁣

Our custom signage helps visitors navigate the space and discover where they can catch a glimpse of these incredible animals in action.
⁣

📍 Next time you're at Perth Zoo, take a walk through the Gibbon Crossing and see if you can spot them!

We recently designed and manufactured a bespoke Stadium Climber that brings play, movement, and imagination together in one dynamic space. Featuring an interactive footy scoreboard, shaded areas, slide, integrated seating, and a climbing rope, this custom build is made for more than just fun.
⁣
A space like this encourages teamwork and independence for little ones, and a sense of community built through shared play.

We’re proud to showcase the custom-made playground equipment by LyPa Australia, created for the beautiful playspace at Bloomdale Estate, Melbourne.
⁣
🌱 Surrounded by plenty of open green space, the park provides room for children to run, climb and explore, while families can relax and enjoy the natural surroundings. Native planting throughout the space will also grow to provide additional shade over time.
⁣
Combining custom play equipment with nature and plenty of green space is a great example of how thoughtfully designed play environments can bring communities together.
⁣

Our team recently completed maintenance works at Keith Hayes Community Centre in Lathlain, helping keep the playspace looking its best and performing as it should.
