If I could offer advice to any 40-year-old person, it would be to find a way to start exercise or training as soon as possible possible if you’re not already doing something Active. Even once a week will make a difference - 10 minutes a day will make a difference if you’re not already doing something Active.

Why do we care? Because we genuinely want you to be able to tell us stories of the crazy holidays all the activities that you do when you are 60,70,80 years old. I want to help you prepare for the life ahead so that you can live all the way, not spend the last 10 years of your life in pain or struggling to move.

We accept anybody the way you are right now. We care about the future and not so much about your past.. we accept that not everything is perfect and we design programs around your life and we don’t expect you to design your life around our program.

To book a time to discuss a way that we can help you please contact 4927 8190 and we will book you in to have a discussion to work out how we can start you preparing for the next 20 to 30 years of your life.

Over the past 12 weeks, has gone about a competitive preparation for National Powerlifting Championships. It has been interesting, challenging and soul searching.

I am sure that out there, are many similar people. Who had a high degree of athletic ability and as we got older we don’t challenge ourselves to be really uncomfortable.

This is to you. It’s hard, but it’s worth it.

Little collection of work done last week! It is never lost on me where people start from. You only lose if you quit. Just start wherever you are… and just keep turning up!! 1% every day. 🔑

Well deserved Nate!! Great reward for putting in the work week on week mate! We are really proud of you.

QUEENSLAND NATIONAL CHAMPIONS!
The Maroons may not have got the result they wanted in the State of Origin this week, but they certainly made sure Queensland finished on top on the softball diamond!

A huge congratulations to our Year 10 student Nate Benson and his teammates who competed in the 13-18 School Sport Australian Softball Championships. They won the gold medal in the championships with a dominant 5-1 grand final win over NSW.

To top off the Gold Medal, Nate was also selected in the 2026 School Sport Australian Merit Team!

An incredible achievement congratulations Nate!

Box jumps can be a great exercise to improve vertical leap. Key tips.

1. Jump as high as possible. Like you are going over the box.
2. Get onto the box fast. This cue makes you jump higher.
3. Use the box height that lets you jump the highest. Not the highest box you can jump on.

Why do we have different health and fitness professionals working under the same roof? What is the advantage of a multi-disciplinary or integrated model of care?

Seeing an Exercise Physiologist in a multidisciplinary clinic — like Vector Health — offers a richer, more integrated experience. You benefit from collaboration between physiotherapists, EPs, coaches, and other professionals who share information and work together to support your goals. This means faster problem‑solving, better communication, and more comprehensive care.

It also presents an opportunity for a seamless integration between a rehabilitation or diagnostic environment, to a functional outcome environment. At the crux, Exercise and Fitness / performance professionals work in a global sense, where a physiotherapist (in general) works in a specific sense. So, if you, for example have a shoulder injury, a good physiotherapist will diagnose and work out how to improve that specific problem. If you work simulataneously with an Exercise Physiologist, they will look towards how they can still impact your global health and fitness outcomes, whilst being mindful of the problem that exists.

This was always the intent when beginning our integrated model and we are still striving to refine and redefine the experiences of people in a health, fitness, wellbeing and rehabilitation environment.

An EP working alone may still be excellent, but they don’t have immediate access to other clinicians for cross‑referral, case discussion, or integrated treatment planning.

In a multidisciplinary setting, clients often feel more supported, more understood, and more confident in their long‑term plan.

This is a great drill to teach the use of lats in a pull up. It works on inner strength ranges which is important when starting to move towards an eccentric pull up as a strength progression. Well done on the demo .06 !
