Today I was given the opportunity to get up on stage at the Wellness Expo and talk about something I’m incredibly passionate about, Pilates, Yoga and Wellbeing.
I’m super grateful for the chance to share my journey as a Yoga teacher and Pilates instructor, and over 20 yrs in the fitness industry and how I’ve brought them all together to create my own unique style of classes combining both strength, mobility, balance, breath and mindfulness in a way that works for real people and real bodies.
And standing up there today reminded me of something I’d almost forgotten…
I really love this.
There was a time when I thought I had to be perfect or completely pain free to teach the way I used to. I even considered giving it all up a few yrs back.
But I’ve realised I don’t have to be the person I was 10 or 20 years ago.
I can teach as the woman I am today.
A woman who understands what it’s like to move with limitations. To have aches and pains. To work around arthritis, injuries and a body that sometimes says, Not today! 😂
And maybe that’s actually what makes me a better teacher.
I’m not standing at the front telling you what you should be able to do.
I’m doing it with you and because I know limitations and pain, I can give you modifications.
It’s not about looking great, it’s about feeling great, knowing your body is strong but bonus you do get sculpted when you stick with it.
Another bonus is the community and friendships made along the way.
If you’re looking for a class that combines Yoga and Pilates in a supportive, achievable and holistic way, come and join me. 🧘♀️
