The importance of regularly seeing a Podiatrist. This patient with Diabetes came in yesterday as an emergency walk in. She also has distal neuropathy (sensation impairment in the feet). She has regular carers and a support team. However, it wasn’t picked up that she needed to see a Doctor since she ‘didn’t feel anything’, until yesterday. She was in immense pain and was sent to emergency immediately. Fortunately, she came in on time and did not have any systemic infection and was given oral antibiotics. People with Diabetes may not feel anything until it’s too late! Please make sure you’re checking up regularly with your Podiatrist
