In procedures like upper blepharoplasty, your surgeon may intentionally remove a little less skin than the maximum possible. Why? Because taking too much can create problems that are far more difficult to fix.

In some cases, a small revision is the safer option. It's not a sign that your surgery has failed, it's part of achieving the best possible outcome while minimising unnecessary risk.

You asked for a video on how to check for muscle separation, so here it is! If you’ve got a persistent lower ab bulge or feel like your core isn’t “engaging”, the best way to perform a quick self-check is:

✔️ Fingers just below your belly button (midline)
✔️ Lift both legs slightly (or a small crunch)
✔️ Feel what happens under your fingers

If they drop into a gap, there could be muscle separation.

It’s not a diagnosis but it’s a useful starting point.

Save this so you can try it later and send it to someone who’s been struggling with their core after weight loss or pregnancy.
