A fresh delivery of paediatric testing equipment has arrived. 👓✨

These new tools will help us assess vision in young children, support our school vision screening program, and provide even more options for testing pre-verbal and non-verbal infants.

Paediatric optometry often requires a different approach, and having the right equipment allows us to adapt our testing to each child and gather meaningful information in a comfortable and engaging way.

Martin recently visited Resthaven to chat with residents about how Parkinson’s disease can affect vision, balance, mobility and coordination.

The session covered practical strategies to make reading and everyday activities easier, along with ways to better understand the connection between vision and movement.

It was a great morning with plenty of discussion and questions. We always enjoy opportunities to share information that can help people stay comfortable, confident and independent in their day-to-day lives!

Today we wore our Big Freeze beanies in support of the fight against Motor Neurone Disease. ❄️💙

Like many Australians, we know that MND has touched the lives of families, friends and communities across the country. The Big Freeze is a powerful reminder of the impact this disease has and the importance of continuing to fund research in the hope of finding a cure.

We're proud to show our support and join thousands of others helping to make a difference.

Karen picked up her new Etnia sunglasses and they look fantastic. 😎✨

Sunglasses aren’t just for summer. As we head into the cooler months, winter glare and the lower sun can be just as tough on the eyes, especially on the road.

A great pair of sunnies is a year-round essential, and Karen’s chosen well. ☀️

Helping little eyes get ready for big school adventures 👀✨

Martin recently visited Goolwa Primary School and the Goolwa Children’s Centre, working alongside CaFHS nurses to help identify vision problems in children before they start school.

So much of early learning relies on vision, from recognising letters and numbers to building confidence in the classroom. Picking up potential concerns early can make a huge difference to how children learn, play and settle into school life.

A big thank you to the CaFHS team for the important work they do supporting local families!
