Good Friday Afternoon one and all, near and far....this week we celebrated Nurse's Week and Staff Appreciation Week - lots of treats and days of ice cream, popcorn, puzzles, games, coffee, donuts, and a really delicious BBQ - thank you to all the staff who prepped, planned, prepared and delivered - and to our wonderful staff who deserve a big Thank You for everything you do every shift and all the little things unknown to us that you do special for our Residents on top of the everyday tasks. A big shout out to Jonathan Good of Clyde Mar Construction - he moved our raised garden boxes with his tractor to the garden area - very, very, very much appreciated. The ladies were treated to special treats on Mother's Day between family visits. Lara presented Armchair Travel to the Netherlands with family heirlooms and Dutch cookies. Our Residents are spending time outdoors as weather permits, some listening to poetry by Robert Frost and all enjoying fresh air. We had good entertainment as always and today I can't help but mention a new fad has apparently started with standing ovations for the entertainers - we are in!! Some of us may be sitting, but please know in our hearts we are always giving you standing ovations 🙂 A safe and happy weekend to all near and far xo

When Marilyn wanted a few curlers put in her hair this morning, I was on my way to do that and one of my staff, Lara, said "Hey can I tag along, I'd like to learn how to do that" - well, that was a beautiful request to have! Lara did a great job, and Marilyn is all smiles. It was a fun little visit. Today we are including a few pictures that didn't get posted over the last couple of weeks, so you'll see a mix of - Peter Rabbit's Easter visit, dancing, music, outdoor time, spring flowers, coloring, home baking, physical games, pet therapy, blue skies, family visits, volunteer visits and intergenerational visits! We LOVE visits! We hope everyone near and far has a safe and happy weekend. Happy Friday from our Home to Yours xo

Can't leave without saying 'Happy Friday from our Home to Yours' -
we had a healthy pub today - sweet, juicy, sloppy, delicious watermelon which the Residents enjoyed. Of course, having a student along always cheers everyone up - even the staff........

A heartfelt Thank You to Home Hospice North Lanark "Comfort Crew" who knitted many items and presented them to some of our Residents this morning. A special Thank You to Jan Watson for organizing this visit and to Kathryn and her husband Alan who came and delivered the beautiful lap blankets and shawls. Residents enjoyed looking through and choosing one to keep. It was a lovely visit, and we are grateful to have been chosen to receive these handcrafted, made with love, items. We love you back xo

Well good Friday evening one and all.....not sure what you were up to today, but we got the Activity girls out doing garden/yard cleanup and were pleasantly surprised when a Resident's son, Kim, appeared with his leaf blower and made my staff's task so much easier, they were very, very happy! Then along came our ADHS student Sarah who donned a pair of gloves and dug right in! Earlier in the week some Residents got to go on an outing to Tim Horton's - it was very much appreciated by the Residents, and the Activity staff were so happy to get Residents "On the Road Again". We welcomed 'Vintage Bootleg' (Jeff and Phil) this week and even they said "Feels like Friday Night here" there was so much dancing and singing going on......it was a lot of fun. We hope you all have a good weekend with someone special to you - Happy Friday from our Home to Yours xo

It's truly lovely to see so many visitors coming in to spend time with our Residents - family, friends and others; thank you.
We welcome ADHS student Kaileigh who is coming in to do her Volunteer Hours and is eager to make a difference with everyone she meets. We were able to do a Special Meal program today and some Residents were treated to 'Moe's Shawarma' and it must have been very, very good as the room got very, very quiet when the food was served 🙂. We welcomed Mike Wattie as well as The Valley Booters in to entertain and finish up the week. Wishing everyone Happy Friday - from our Home to Yours - everyone near and far xo
