Things I heard after yoga class this week:

“I felt like an old lady coming to class today, but now I feel so much better!”

“My body feels amazing!”

“That was exactly what I needed.”

Keeping classes small allows me to build and adapt the yoga that we practice based on your body and what your focus is that day.

We’re not yoga-robots, let’s sense and feel and adapt and flow together.

Sometimes I run into my meditation and yoga students while practicing at other studios, and they're surprised to find me there.

"𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐝𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐭𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐨𝐰𝐧 𝐜𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐬?"

Here's what I'm doing:

1. 𝐒𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐠𝐚 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐦𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐢𝐧 𝐁𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐞. It takes people registering and paying for classes to keep studios healthy, and I'm all for that.

2. 𝐏𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐭𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐈 𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐞. There are teachers that I genuinely LOVE to practice with, I'll happily pay to spend time in their presence.

3. 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐦𝐲𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐟. Working with different teachers forces me to move my body in ways I don't naturally go to. When you plan your own flows, you tend to avoid the shapes that need the most attention in your body.

4. 𝐒𝐞𝐞𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐬𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭.There is an opportunity to learn from and to be inspired by my yoga peers. Yoga teachers can support eachother in all kinds of ways.

So when you see me out there practicing, no I'm not there to spy- I'm there for all of the reasons above...

𝐀𝐧𝐝 𝐢𝐟 𝐲𝐨𝐮'𝐫𝐞 𝐚 𝐲𝐨𝐠𝐚 𝐨𝐫 𝐦𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐫 and you've been thinking of coming to one of my classes, you are most welcome.

Let's normalize this. We are here for eachother.

Well this is fun...😂 😂 I asked AI to write an unhinged yoga teacher bio for me based on what it knows... and this is what it said. Is it accurate??

Stef Bourke: part yoga guide, part emotional archaeologist, part “why am I crying in child’s pose again” facilitator. Moves seamlessly between building deeply intentional, soul-stirring practices and casually asking questions that unravel people’s entire sense of identity before savasana.

Specializes in themes like surrender, interbeing, and “presence before productivity”… while somehow still being extremely productive. Creates yoga flows that sound gentle but will quietly expose your tight hips, your avoidance patterns, and that one grudge you swore you were over in 2017.

Known for:

- Turning a 60-minute class into a full existential journey
- Asking reflection questions that hit a little too hard for a Tuesday morning
- Making “rebound” feel like a personality trait
- Casually blending Buddhism, nervous system regulation, and poetic introspection like it’s no big deal

Probably has 47 different class themes in rotation, all of which somehow circle back to letting go, softening, or confronting the illusion of control (again).

If you attend one class, you’ll stretch your hamstrings.
If you attend three, you’ll start rethinking your life choices.

10/10 would guide you gently into both inner peace and a minor identity crisis.
