If rest feels uncomfortable, awkward, or even wrong --
that's not proof you shouldn't be resting.

It's often just a sign that this is new.

When your nervous system is used to pushing, slowing down can feel unsafe at first.

Try this while resting:
- Tell yourself, "This feels unfamiliar but that doesn't mean it is wrong"
- Take one slow breath in through your nose and a longer exhale out.

You're not doing rest incorrectly.
You're learning a new way of being!

Parenting guilt shows up even when you're doing your best. It is a sign that you care.

The goal isn't to make that guilt disappear.
It's to notice it without letting it take over.

Try this when guilt pops up:
- Name it "This is guilt"
- Remind yourself "Feeling this doesn't mean I've done something wrong"

You can acknowledge the feeling without building a story around it or letting it control what you do.

You're allowed to be human AND a good parent.

Joy is not frivolous.
It is part of balanced mental health functioning.

Small moments of joy help regulate stress, help us better cope with future stress, and, especially when life is heavy, stabilizes us.

Try to notice one thing that brings you joy today.
It doesn't have to be big; a song, a warm drink, a shared laugh.

Joy doesn't erase hardship but it does help you keep going through it.
