If rest feels uncomfortable, awkward, or even wrong --
that's not proof you shouldn't be resting.
It's often just a sign that this is new.
When your nervous system is used to pushing, slowing down can feel unsafe at first.
Try this while resting:
- Tell yourself, "This feels unfamiliar but that doesn't mean it is wrong"
- Take one slow breath in through your nose and a longer exhale out.
You're not doing rest incorrectly.
You're learning a new way of being!
