Some days feel heavier than others. Some nights feel impossible to survive. I know that place, because I've been there too and found my way back. Stay is a collection of raw, honest poetry for the moments when giving up feels closer than holding on. You are not alone. Your story is not over. There is still a reason to Stay.

A bird flew into my window this morning. He is now resting in a cardboard box until he's ready to fly away. Poor thing.

It's hilarious that I thought I didn't look high. This was me in active addiction. Today, I have over five years clean. Thank God.

When I look at old pictures of myself, all I can see is the life sucked right out of me. I wasn't fooling anyone but myself. I thought I had it all together and that I was functional... until I wasn't.

A picture paints a thousand words.

NO TIMELINE FOR GRIEF

When we lose someone
Our grief comes in waves
It ebbs and flows
Straight though our veins

Everything we used to know
Is no longer the same
When we lose someone
Our grief comes in waves

There is no timeline to our grief
We walk through life differently
No answer to when we find relief
Losing them changed everything

When we lose someone
Our grief comes in waves
We walk through life completely changed
There is no timeline for our pain

We find ways to get through each day
But it's always a matter of time
In our darkest moments we can pray
For a calming peace of mind

No matter what, we will still grieve
Don't tell us, it's time to let go
Our part in remembering them
Is when our tears begin to flow

Everything we used to know
Is no longer the same
When we lose someone
Our grief comes in waves
