Guelph General Hospital

Guelph General Hospital is a dynamic, comprehensive acute care facility providing a full range of services to the residents of Guelph and Wellington County.

When the doors to Guelph General Hospital were opened on August 16, 1875, the hospital had 12 beds, a small infectious room, and a dispensary. A superintendent and two nurses provided care, as well as working in the kitchen, housekeeping, switchboard, and laundry. Today, Guelph General Hospital is a dynamic, comprehensive acute care facility providing a full range of services to the residents of G

uelph and Wellington County. Services include 24-hour emergency coverage, advanced technology and diagnostic support, and specialty programs such as being the regional provider for general vascular surgery and a designated Provincial Centre of Excellence for bariatric surgery.

What is the P.A.R.T.Y. program?
P.A.R.T.Y. takes you behind the scenes of a real trauma journey, from paramedics rushing a patient through the doors, to hospital care, rehab, and sometimes recovery. Students hear real stories from police, paramedics, doctors, nurses, rehab specialists, and injury ambassadors.

High-risk breast screening is now available in Guelph-Wellington.

Did you know Guelph General Hospital is now a designated site for the High-Risk Ontario Breast Screening Program? Patients can now access screenings closer to home—supporting more timely care and a better patient experience.

This program is part of our ongoing commitment to improving access, reducing wait times, and supporting better health outcomes for patients and families across Guelph-Wellington. Waterloo Regional Health Network - WRHN

We've opened a new clinic to provide care closer to home for patients with neurological conditions and reduce the number of inpatients that are transferred to hospitals outside the region.

The clinic is supported by Neurologist, Dr. Erin Balcom, who is eager to meet members of the Guelph-Wellington community and have a positive impact on neurological care in the region.

Flowers are permitted but please avoid bringing in highly fragrant flowers such as lilies and hyacinths. Also, as a reminder, smoking is not permitted anywhere on our grounds.
