👓 “But my prescription hasn’t changed!”

We hear this one a lot! 😅

Ever wonder why eyeglass prescriptions are generally valid for 2 years, while contact lens prescriptions are typically valid for 1 year?

There’s a good reason! 👀

Your eye exam isn’t just about finding out whether you can see 20/20. Your optometrist also checks the health of your eyes and looks for changes that you may not notice yourself.

👓 Eyeglasses: Your prescription and eye health are generally reassessed every 2 years.

👁️ Contact lenses: Because contact lenses sit directly on your eyes, they require more frequent assessment to make sure the prescription is appropriate, the lenses fit properly and your eyes are staying healthy.

So even if your vision feels exactly the same, your eyes may have changed without you realizing it.

Your eyes don’t always send you a notification when something changes. 😉

When was your last eye exam?
