They may search for them, become lonely, or simply seem to know that something has changed. That’s why we welcome families to arrange a brief time for their pet to come in and say goodbye, too.

Another simple way to bring them comfort at home is to give them a shirt, blanket, or other item that carries their person’s familiar scent.
