Dry eyes don’t always look the way you’d expect. 👀

Watery eyes, redness, grittiness, sharp discomfort or feeling like you need to blink more often can all be signs of dry eye disease.

💙 The tricky part? You might not even realize your eyes are dry.

Dry eye disease can only be diagnosed by an eye care professional, so if you’re experiencing any of these symptoms, our team at Vision Care Ottawa is here to help.

Book your dry eye assessment and let’s get to the root of what your eyes are feeling!

Your eye health is part of your overall health. 👁️💙

This World Sight Day, here’s your checklist for staying on top of your eye health:

👓 1. Get routine comprehensive eye exams
Not just to check your vision, but to monitor your overall eye health and look for signs of disease.

⏰ 2. Don’t wait for symptoms
Even when your vision seems perfect, changes can develop without noticeable symptoms. Stay on top of your eye health before problems have a chance to progress.

🕶️ 3. Protect your vision
Wear UV-safe sunglasses when you’re outside, safety glasses when you’re doing something that could put your eyes at risk, and remember to take regular screen breaks.

🧬 4. Know your risk factors
Your family history of eye disease, medications and overall health can all impact your eyes. Make sure your eye doctor knows what matters to your health.

💙 5. Remember that eye care matters — and it should be accessible
If cost is a concern, ask about financial options, community resources or how we can help. Everyone deserves access to the eye care they need.

This World Sight Day, make your eye health a priority. Your future vision is worth taking care of today. 👁️

Meet Dr. Han, the newest member of the Vision Care Woodward team! 👓

A 2026 University of Waterloo optometry graduate, Dr. Han has a special interest in specialty contact lenses, including scleral lenses for irregular corneas and orthokeratology for myopia control.

He’s also passionate about helping patients understand dry eye disease — something he says is often overlooked, especially with how much time we spend on screens!!

For Dr. Han, one of the best parts of practicing at Vision Care is the people. From our team to the patients we care for, he loves being part of a community that genuinely cares about one another and about Ottawa.

Now accepting new patients at Vision Care Woodward. If you’re due for an eye exam, come meet Dr. Han!
