Operation Hope - The Fourth Story

We provide a safe haven for women and couples facing the overwhelming reality of an unplanned pregnancy. Many arrive feeling pulled in different directions—surrounded by strong opinions from those in their lives and, at times, experiencing intense pressure from a partner about what decision to make. Alongside this, they are carrying their own fears and uncertainties.

Often, the circumstances surrounding the pregnancy add further layers of complexity, such as housing instability, health challenges, financial pressures, and more.

At First Place, clients are truly listened to and heard. They encounter compassion and empathy, receive reliable and accurate information about all of their options, and are given practical tools to support thoughtful decision-making. Our hope is to help each person move beyond fear and into a place of clarity and hope.

A couple whose pregnancy scare reshaped their boundaries and faith.

Operation Hope — Story Two

When we submit our time and ministry to the Lord, we never know how He will choose to minister through us. This is one of those beautiful times when God intervened in a powerful way through a pregnancy test appointment. Hear what one client had to say:

“I just wanted to thank First Place Options for the exceptional care yesterday. I can't express how much it meant to me! I had a really good talk with my boyfriend last night and we laid some strong, clear boundaries, so that we can honour our desires to honour the Lord.

Later in the evening I went to a small group with my church and we were doing a Bible study on Jonah. I felt so seen and convicted by the Lord. I have seen the consequences of my rebellion and disobedience, and it was really not fun. I also saw how the Lord never stopped pursuing Jonah, like He never stops pursuing me.

I thank the Lord for the work He is doing through you and through First Place Options! It has encouraged and inspired me, and it truly spoke peace, light, and love into my soul.

Thank you for being a safe place where I could go to talk and get help! I will never forget this. This is a really great ministry and I will be praying for it. I really believe in the work that you guys are doing!”

A young woman searching for healing after the pain of abortion.

Operation Hope — Story One

Amy is a young woman who came to us carrying deep loss and regret after her abortion. When she first discovered she was pregnant, her doctor immediately suggested that she consider abortion. Feeling completely unprepared for the possibility
of parenting, and still in a state of shock, she felt pressure to quickly “deal with the situation.” Within just three days of learning she was pregnant, she made the decision to have a medical abortion.

Now, she often finds herself wondering if everything happened too quickly. Questions like, “What if I had taken more time to think through my options?” come to mind.

Having a safe place to process emotions like regret, sadness and shame have been an important part of her healing. As she shares her story, she is beginning to grow in compassion for herself and is slowly moving toward forgiveness. She is learning how to
acknowledge her emotions rather than numb them.

During one of our sessions, Amy shared that she felt she would like to try praying—even though she has no faith background. Since then, we have begun ending our time together each week in prayer, bringing the struggles she is facing before God
and inviting Him to carry the burdens of her heart.

Seeds of love, faith, and hope are being planted—seeds that have the potential to change the trajectory of a life. We thank God for the privilege of coming alongside women during some of the most difficult moments of their lives and being able to watch
as God brings beauty from ashes.

Today, we pause to say thank you.

To the moms in the middle of sleepless nights, messy homes, and tired hearts, thank you for loving so deeply, day after day.

To the new moms, single moms, foster and adoptive moms, and the moms whose children are now grown, your sacrifice, strength, and care matter more than words can say.

And to those who carry grief or longing today, we see you too. Mother’s Day can hold both joy and ache, sometimes at the same time.

Motherhood looks different for every story, but love is what ties them all together.
