We had the privilege of participating in the Alzheimer’s Walk at Bevermead Park, Kawartha Lakes 💜

Our Kawartha Centre team proudly joined the walk on May 31st to support individuals and families affected by Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia. It was a meaningful day filled with community spirit, awareness, and hope.

Grateful to be part of such an important cause and to stand together in support, compassion, and strength. Every step counts in the journey toward a future without Alzheimer’s. 💜

May 20th marks Clinical Trials Day, a global celebration of the day James Lind started his famous scurvy trial in 1747, laying the foundation for modern clinical research. 📜🔬

Today, clinical trials are more critical than ever. They are the essential bridge between laboratory discovery and the safe, effective treatments patients need worldwide.🧪

We are proud to recognize and honor the patients who volunteer for these studies, as well as the clinical research professionals who design, manage, and execute them with the highest standards of safety and integrity. 🧬🔬

Happy Nurses Week! 💙

This week isn’t just a formality—it’s recognition for one of the toughest, most demanding professions out there.

Nurses don’t just “help”—they handle pressure, long shifts, emotional burnout, and still show up with compassion when patients need it most.

Whether it’s a small act of care or a life-saving decision, your work matters more than people openly acknowledge.

You are not just appreciated—you are essential. ❤️

🍂 November Fall Prevention Month 🍂
Falls can happen to anyone, but for seniors or those with balance issues, a single fall can change mobility, confidence, and independence.

✅ This month, let’s focus on staying safe:

🦶 1. Wear safe footwear
Non-slip soles and well-fitted shoes reduce slipping risk.

🏡 2. Make your home fall-safe
Remove loose rugs, keep floors clutter-free, add grab bars in bathrooms, and ensure good lighting—especially at night.

💪 3. Strength & balance exercises
Simple daily routines like leg lifts, wall push-ups, or Tai Chi help maintain stability.

💊 4. Review medications
Some medicines can cause dizziness—ask your doctor or pharmacist for a review.

👓 5. Vision check
Updated glasses can improve depth and balance.

✨ Preventing a fall is easier than recovering from one.
Share this to spread awareness and protect a loved one this November! 💛

🧡 National Day for Truth and Reconciliation 🧡

Today, we pause to remember and honour the children who never returned home, Survivors of residential schools, their families, and their communities.

It is a day to reflect on our shared history, acknowledge the truths of the past, and commit to meaningful steps toward reconciliation.

Every small action—listening, learning, and supporting Indigenous voices—helps build a future rooted in respect and healing.
