The Trans Peer Outreach program offers supports and services for transgender and gender diverse people, to assist them to improve the quality of their lives through the provision of community-based, client centered care that supports positive interdependence. Services are delivered by people with lived experience as a transgender or gender-diverse person, and who also may have experience living with a mental health concern. Trans Peer Outreach services are founded upon the principle that peers can better understand, relate to and support individuals with similar experiences, related to the health and wellbeing of people within this population, and are in a unique position to offer assistance. One to one Peer Support services can provide assistance in the following areas; reducing Isolation and/or self-isolating behaviour, developing wellness tools/strategies, assistance with accessing supportive communities, exploring gender identity, development of resources for navigating and accessing Health Care, and information and strategies to assist with transitioning. We seek and welcome collaboration with others who share our goal of creating, providing and improving services for trans, non-binary and gender diverse people throughout our communities.

TPO is joining forces with PARN and the PCHC this November to create community connection!

The Rainbow Greeting Card Project is a community-led arts and fundraising initiative creating greeting cards that celebrate 2SLGBTQIA+ experiences that are often missing from mainstream cards.
Community members will come together to create original cards celebrating moments like coming out, new names and pronouns, gender-affirming milestones, chosen family, 2SLGBTQIA+ anniversaries, and everyday joy. The cards will then be reproduced and sold through local businesses, markets, and community events.
The idea is simple is to turn community creativity into community support. Money raised through card sales will go back into the local 2SLGBTQIA+ community to help offset costs related to gender-affirming care and related needs, such as legal name or gender-marker changes and transportation to healthcare appointments.
The project creates something joyful and visible while also building a practical, community-generated source of support for people who face financial barriers to gender-affirming care.

Join us Wednesday November 4th for our monthly TransTalk group. TransTalk is our monthly group where trans/non-binary/gender diverse and questioning peers get together and discuss living as someone who is gender diverse.

The topic this week is 🏳️‍⚧️BOTTOM SURGERY🏳️‍⚧️. We are going to be deep diving into what bottom surgeries are available, how to access them, and some of the important considerations.

Looking for a way to get into the Spooky Spirit? Join us on Wednesday October 21st from 5-7pm at the HOPE Learning Centre. We will be watching a holiday movie, completing a spooky craft, and enjoying some tasty food!

👯SPEED FRIENDING👯‍♀️

Join us on September 30th from 5-7pm at the HOPE Learning Centre for a night of community and connection!

Speed Friending is a process that allows many new and exciting connections to happen all in one night! Attending groups wanting to meet new folks can be scary, and this event allows that’s pressure to be taken off!

🚨CALLING ALL COMMUNITY🚨

Wanting to celebrate Pride in style?! This is the event for you!

Join us on Wednesday September 16th at the HOPE learning Center between 5-7pm and make some merch for Pride🌈
We will have tie dye, bleach, and clothing available for folks to create their desired pride merch!
We will also have the materials to make signs, flags, and other pride gear.

This event is open to all current Trans Peer Outreach clients, their friends and family, and allies✨

☀️SUNSET PICNIC☀️

Wanting to end the summer celebrating with community?! This is the event for you!
Join us on August 25th from 530-730 at Millennium Park (near the silver bean) for a night of community connection!

We will be providing some materials for Tie Dye and some snacks will be provided. Please bring your own clothing to Dye, and you are welcome to bring your own snacks and crafts!
