Seriously, though… You will NEVER go hungry if you are near me and my bag of treats! Special shout out to my son who did such a good job «mugging» me… and who’s well aware I will throw snacks at any problem 🤣

When people come to see me, I’m often less interested in what they’re eating than what they’re not eating.

🤔Not eating bread because you’ve been told it’s “bad.”
🤔Not eating dessert because you feel you have to “earn” it.
🤔Not eating enough during the day because you’re too busy.
🤔Not eating foods you genuinely enjoy because guilt gets in the way.

The foods we avoid—and why we avoid them—often tell a much bigger story than the foods on our plate.

Curiosity, not judgment, is where healing begins.

Jumping on the trend. But seriously, could protein just calm down already?

Teen loves fast food? Yup.
Teen prefers sweets to salads? Definitely!
Teen raids the kitchen after supper? Totally normal!!

What CAN be a cause for concern is a sudden desire to «get healthy », saying no to ice cream, avoiding meals at restaurants, or a significant decrease in portions at the table.

While these changes can be a simple phase, it’s always a good idea to open up the conversation and have an understanding of where this advice came from and what is the motivation.

There is a A LOT of questionable diet advice that we all are being bombarded with. Being able to have open, honest conversations with our kids and help them distinguish between helpful and harmful advice is so important. If you need help navigating these topics, I am here to help ❤️

Food nourishes us in more ways than nutrients alone. It can bring pleasure, connection, celebration, comfort, culture, and joy. Those experiences matter too.

The next time you’re choosing what to eat, remember that you’re allowed to value how food tastes, how it makes you feel, and the moments it creates—not just what’s printed on the label.

May be a little late to the game, but finally tried the famous cookies while on my road trip. They did not disappoint! Let me know if you’ve tried them and what flavors I can’t miss!

It can sometimes be a struggle to come up with a new recipe idea for my class at WICWC . I decided to keep things simple this time and make a family favourite salad I always make at home. Trouble was, I couldn’t come up with a name for it…

I therefore present you with the « My Kids Even Like This Salad » salad 🥗😁

Ingredients:

- 1 head romaine lettuce, chopped
- 2 small cucumbers, sliced
- ½ cup cherry tomatoes, halved
- 1 avocado, diced
- 1 mango, diced
- ½ cup palm hearts, sliced (optional)
- 1/3 cup feta, cubed
- 1/3 cup honey pistachios (can replace with nuts/ seeds of choice)
- 2 cups pita chips, crumbled

Honey Dijon Dressing:

- ¼ cup olive oil
- 3 Tbsp mayonnaise
- 3 Tbsp Dijon mustard
- 3 Tbsp honey
- 2 Tbsp apple cider vinegar
- Salt & pepper, to taste

Directions:

1) Whisk together dressing ingredients. Set aside.
2) Combine salad ingredients in large bowl.
3) Toss salad with dressing just before serving.
*Makes 4-6 servings
