In Once Upon a Forest program, the children have continued their skill progression for whittling onto wood- the final stage in our whittling unit where we’ve explored different mediums and tools for whittling and will now work on a project 🪵 We’re also wrapping up our impressions unit in nature crafting where we’ve used nature treasures to make markings in different ways 🍂 All groups have also selected a species in our woods to conduct an exploration of while out on our hikes. They will cycle through different observations, measurements, and recordings to see what/if any changes occur over the seasons! Now, they’re helping to make some SpOoKy creations to get ready for our Trunk or Treat on Sunday! Register using the link in our bio 👻🎃🧙

Thank you to everyone who came out yesterday to support our Community Nature Care Day! Even though it was a smaller group, we were able to make a BIG difference by picking up 15 lbs of garbage around our community (QMS, QR Trail, Matthews Cove, KVHS, Lakefield, and our own campus at The Woods) 🌏💙💚🌲
Special shoutout to our sponsors: Shoppers, Culligan Water, and Tim Hortons for the in-kind donations to help make this event happen! We couldn’t have done it without you!
