Occupational therapists (OTs) help people participate in the everyday activities that make up life! 💛 They help people of all ages build skills, confidence, and independence through activities like:

👕 Getting dressed
🧸 Playing
🌈 Sensory regulation
✏️ Fine motor skills and writing
🌱 Building independence
📅 Navigating daily routines

Basically? OTs help make everyday life a little easier! 🙌 Occupational therapists rock! 🤘💛

🌱 Analytic vs. Gestalt Language Development 🍎

There’s more than one way children can develop language! Think of it like an apple tree:

🌱 Analytic language development:
Children often build language from smaller pieces to bigger ones. They may begin with single words, then start combining two words, building longer phrases, and eventually developing sentences.

🍎 Gestalt language development:
Children may begin with larger chunks or phrases. Over time, they may change those phrases, pull out individual words, combine words in new ways, build phrases, and eventually create their own sentences.

Neither path is “better” or “worse” — they’re simply different ways children may develop and organize language. 💛

The goal is to understand how your child is developing language and support them from where they are!

Even a few minutes of practice each day can help keep new skills fresh, build confidence, and make it easier to carry those skills into everyday life. It doesn’t have to be perfect or take a lot of time… a little bit of practice goes a long way! 🌱
