Today is National Health and Fitness Day 🩵

At Strong Minds, we believe health is about so much more than exercise. True wellness happens when we care for both the mind and the body.

Did you know movement can help stimulate the vagus nerve, one of the body’s most important pathways for nervous system regulation?

Activities like walking, stretching, deep breathing, yoga, and exercise can all support a healthier, more regulated nervous system.

Research shows that regular physical activity can reduce symptoms of depression and improve overall emotional resilience. Sometimes a short walk can be enough to create a small but meaningful shift in mood.

This National Health and Fitness Day, we encourage you to move your body not as a punishment, but as an act of self-care.

At Strong Minds, we believe movement is medicine. Not because exercise “fixes” mental health, but because movement gives the brain, body, and nervous system the support they need to heal, regulate, and thrive.

Sometimes the most powerful step for mental health is simply taking the first step. 🤍🩵🖤

June is Men’s Mental Health Month. 🩵

Mental health does not discriminate, and neither should support.

Too many men are taught to stay silent, push through, or carry the weight alone. At Strong Minds, we believe strength is not found in suffering in silence. Strength is found in reaching out, asking for help, and taking steps toward healing.

Whether you’re struggling with stress, anxiety, depression, burnout, grief, or simply feeling overwhelmed, you deserve support, connection, and a space where you can be heard without judgment.

This month, we encourage the men in our community to check in with themselves, check in with one another, and remember that seeking support and resources is a sign of strength, not weakness.

We are so amazed and grateful to receive this donation from EarlyON Child and Family Centre -White River!

Thank you for supporting Strong Minds’ effort to raise funds for local mental health initiatives through Run For Change.

Because of people and organizations like you, we are able to make a difference 🩵

I would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the community of White River for your generosity and support.

Recently, I collected the donation containers placed at the Northern Neighbours Nurse Practitioner–Led Clinic and the White River Post Office in support of Mental Health and Addiction initiatives. These donations were part of Strong Minds’ Run for Change event held in May, with all funds raised staying within our region to support mental health programs in Sault Ste. Marie.

I am proud to share that, thanks to your kindness, we raised $220.00!

Every dollar makes a difference, and every contribution helps support those who need it most. Thank you to everyone who donated and helped make this possible. Your support means more than you know.

June 2nd is World Eating Disorders Action Day 💜

Today, we stand in support of those living with eating disorders and those walking the courageous path of recovery.

At Strong Minds, this cause is deeply personal.

Our CEO battled an eating disorder for more than 20 years before successfully completing treatment and reclaiming her life. She understands firsthand the isolation, fear, and stigma that can come with an eating disorder, and she also knows that recovery is possible.

Because of her lived experience, she now offers eating disorder recovery coaching, wellness coaching, and life coaching to help others find hope, healing, and a path forward. Her passion for helping others doesn’t stop there. She is currently working toward her Master’s degree so she can expand her knowledge, strengthen her impact, and support even more individuals on their recovery journeys.

Recovery is not linear. It is not easy. But it is worth it.

Today, we encourage conversations that reduce stigma, increase understanding, and remind those struggling that they are not alone.

If you or someone you love is battling an eating disorder, know that support is available and recovery is possible. 🩵

What an incredible afternoon at the IG Wealth Management Walk for Alzheimer’s 💙

Strong Minds was honoured to be a Gold Sponsor this year and to stand alongside so many community members coming together for such an important cause.

We were especially proud to see our CEO lead the event warm-up, helping participants start the day with energy, movement, and connection before taking their first steps toward raising awareness and support for those impacted by Alzheimer’s and dementia.

A heartfelt thank you to Terry, Bea, and everyone at the Alzheimer Society for your warm welcome and for organizing such a meaningful and well-run event. The care, dedication, and community spirit behind this walk were felt every step of the way.

We are so proud of our community for showing up, supporting one another, and helping make a difference. Thank you for allowing us to be part of such a special day. 💙

1 WEEK AWAY!

A space where you don’t have to explain why your brain works differently. 🤍

Our Neurodivergent Club is a free weekly group for neurodivergent adults looking for support, conversation, understanding, and connection.

Whether you live with ADHD, autism, sensory overwhelm, anxiety, or simply feel exhausted from masking and trying to keep up with the world around you.
We see you here.

This is a calm space to slow down from the overwhelm, connect with people who understand, and feel a little less alone.

🩵 Conversation
🩵 Support & connection
🩵 A judgment-free environment
🩵 Community with people who get it

Our CEO lives with ADHD herself and understands how isolating neurodivergence can sometimes feel. Strong Minds was built to create spaces where people feel supported, accepted, and understood exactly as they are.

You are not “too much.”
You are not alone.
We see you.
