✨ A DAY IN MY LIFE | RMT EDITION ✨

A little glimpse into my everyday life as a Registered Massage Therapist and small business owner! 🤎

From getting the treatment room ready, seeing clients, keeping up with the behind-the-scenes business tasks, and finding little moments for myself in between — there’s a lot that goes into running a business of your own!

Being my own boss has taught me so much about hard work, patience, balance, and believing in myself. It’s not always easy, but I’m so grateful to do what I love every single day.

I’m so thankful for every client who supports and trusts me to be a part of their wellness journey. You make it all worthwhile! 🫶🏼

Come along for the day!

✨WHY I BECAME A RMT✨

Happy Massage Therapy Week! 🤍

“Rich in life because my career is someone else’s self-care day”

A quote I like to live by. When I started my massage therapy journey, I was unsure on how it would go. Two years of intense schooling and graduating during COVID. Then completing board exams and being part of the PEI Massage Therapy College. To working in both clinic and spa settings so I could build knowledge and experience. And now almost 1 year in November since starting my own massage practice.

Choosing this career was about more than massage to me. It was about wanting to help people, make a difference in their lives, and give them a space where they could feel cared for.

Starting my own practice has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. It hasn’t always been easy, but every client who walks through my door reminds me why I chose this path.

I’m so grateful to be doing something I love.

Thank you for being part of my journey!

✨HAPPY MASSAGE THERAPY AWARENESS WEEK✨

As Massage Therapy Awareness week begins today I want to take a moment to have a huge shoutout to all the massage therapists out there!

Between intense schooling, long hours studying and clinic and working hard everyday to help others. We are all crushing it!

There are always challenges, learning curves, and moments of uncertainty—but there have also been so many wonderful moments that make it all worthwhile.

And a huge THANK YOU to everyone for being part of my journey as an RMT and small-business owner.

Here’s to continuing to grow, learn, and care for others. 🤍

✨CORE-OCTOBER ✨

Did you know your core is made up of a whole group of muscles that work together to support and stabilize your body?

Your core includes muscles such as:
✨ Re**us abdominis
✨ External & internal obliques
✨ Transversus abdominis
✨ Pelvic floor
✨ Deep muscles surrounding your spine

A strong, functional core can help with:
Stability — supporting your spine
Strength — improving movement and posture
Protection — supporting your back and pelvis
Function — helping with everyday activities

Your core is involved in so much more than crunches!

Question of the day:
What do you do to keep your core strong? 👇🏼

✨ COLD & FLU SEASON ANNOUNCEMENT ✨

As we head into cold and flu season, I kindly ask that if you’re feeling sick or experiencing cold/flu symptoms, please let me know and I can reschedule your appointment.

As a small business owner and solo RMT, I am my business. If I become sick from appointments, it can mean being unable to work for a period of time — affecting both my clients and my business.

Also, when you’re unwell, massage may not be the best choice for your body. Massage can temporarily increase circulation and may make some symptoms feel more noticeable — such as coughing, congestion, fatigue, or general discomfort.

I completely understand that things happen, and there is never any need to feel bad about rescheduling when you’re sick. Your health matters, and so does mine.

Please don’t come to your appointment sick. Just send me a message, and we’ll find another time that works.

Thank you for understanding, respecting my health, and helping me keep my practice healthy for everyone.

Thank you for understanding! 🫶🏼

✨ MOTIVATIONAL MONDAY ✨

I am posting this photo to give a little motivation to whoever reads this LONG post.

This photo is the day I graduated from ICT Northumberland Massage Therapy College in September 2020. Behind all the excitement for my future is a woman who worked extremely hard to earn that diploma.

To be completely honest it wasn’t my first choice, wasn’t my first time in college and it was not right after high school.

I didn’t have a clue what I wanted to do after high school. All I knew was I had to go and try- studied marketing and advertising, sports and recreation and pursued teaching before I found massage therapy.

For any high schoolers reading this.

It’s OKAY if you don’t know what your future holds. It’s OKAY to change your mind a million times. It’s OKAY to follow your passion and dreams, even if others have a different opinion. And it’s OKAY because at the end of the day, your career is for YOU.

Behind this photo is a woman who had countless hours of hard work- studying, learning and massaging. The very first time I ever place my hands on my classmates back- I couldn’t feel anything. I was very worried that I chose the wrong career path. Luckily my teachers were beyond helpful and knowledgeable to tell me “Simone, it takes time and practice. You will get it!”

On my graduation day I told my friends and family I am going to work in clinic/spa settings and build a clientele. In 5 years I want to start my own practice. Well, here I am. Beyond grateful for everyone supporting my massage therapy practice!

6 years ago this photo was taken.

Where did the time go?

Excited to see what the future holds!
