Here our osteopath, Rod, demonstrates the physiological squat: a deep resting position that can challenge ankle mobility, hip mobility, balance and overall movement control.

If this position feels difficult, stiff or impossible, it may be giving you useful information about how your body is moving.

Try it for yourself and see what you notice.

Still starting your tennis or pickleball match with a few quick arm circles and hoping for the best?

Your shoulders and elbows are only one part of the movement chain.

How your ankles, hips, trunk, shoulder blades, wrists and grip work together can all influence how you move and manage load on the court.

We created a free Toronto Tennis and Pickleball Warm-Up Checklist to help you prepare your whole body before playing.

It includes:

✓ A simple five-minute routine
✓ Upper- and lower-body mobility
✓ Court-specific movement preparation
✓ Signs that it may be time for an assessment

Comment TENNIS and we’ll send it directly to you.

Are you dealing with recurring pain or tightness? Our team can help identify contributing movement factors, determine which Ace service may fit your needs and give you a personalized movement and recovery plan.

Watching the pros at the National Bank Open? 🎾

One thing you won’t see them do is step onto the court after a few random stretches.

A proper tennis warm-up should:
✅ Raise your heart rate
✅ Improve your range of motion
✅ Activate the muscles you’ll rely on
✅ Prepare your body for explosive movement, quick changes of direction, and powerful shots

Whether you’re playing competitively or just having a hit with friends, spending 5–10 minutes warming up properly can help you move better, perform better, and reduce your risk of injury.

Save this routine for your next match, and send it to your tennis partner who still thinks a couple of toe touches counts as a warm-up. 🎾

Need help staying pain-free on court? Book an assessment with our team at Ace Sports Clinic and we’ll build a plan to keep you playing your best.

Do you warm up before tennis?

What does a kinesiologist actually do? 👀

A kinesiology session is much more than being handed a list of exercises.

In this session, Luis walks his client through a full movement assessment to understand how the body is moving, where strength or control may be lacking, and what could be contributing to pain or recurring injury.

This may include:

✅ Assessing posture and biomechanics
✅ Testing muscle strength and identifying imbalances
✅ Evaluating balance, mobility and movement control
✅ Breaking down the movements that trigger pain
✅ Building a personalized training plan to restore confidence and function

Luis is a Registered Kinesiologist with a BSc in Kinesiology, a background in Fitness & Health Promotion and certification in Fascia Stretch Therapy. With over eight years of experience, he combines clinical assessment with corrective and progressive exercise to help clients move better—not simply push through discomfort.

A kinesiologist may be right for you if you are:

• Returning to exercise after an injury
• Experiencing recurring pain or tightness
• Struggling with balance, strength or mobility
• Unsure how to train safely
• Finished rehab but not yet confident returning to sport or the gym
• Looking to improve performance and prevent future injuries

Your body does not need another random workout. It needs the right exercises for the way you move.

Great review from Brian... "The team at Ace Sports Clinic made me feel welcome and like they knew how to fix me. I saw 2 practitioners over 6 weeks.
Both were excellent and thoughtful in their practice with me.
Rodrigo, in particular, made my recovery possible.
I also cannot leave out, Reception. It often goes unsaid, but the reception/front desk person in clinics like this really do set the tone for the patient(s). Nadine stood out as warm, welcoming and caring.
I hope I don't NEED to see the team agin, but if i do, Ace Sports Clinic will be my first call.

Highly Recommend for anyone needing body adjustments/manipulation due to pain."

It’s no accident he works with the best athletes of our time. The best always find the best to work with.

It’s like they live in your body and know exactly where to treat. I feel 15 years younger."
