We were thrilled to host an exclusive Sommelier's Tavern event right in our home last Friday afternoon! Led by certified sommelier Austin Shynal, founder of Niagara Sommelier Service, residents and their guests discovered three incredible local w**es.
Guests relaxed in our lounge to the beautiful sounds of a live violin while sampling three incredible, small-batch selections from local producer Fred Wines:
Primrosé: A bright, refreshing sparkling Gamay Noir.
Sauvy P: A vibrant, crisp summer white.
Dark Side: A rich, bold red blend.
To perfectly complement the tasting, our Food & Beverage Manager, Joey Paterno, put together a beautifully curated charcuterie board featuring:
Artisanal Cheeses: A soft, creamy Brie; a tangy goat cheese infused with herbs and lemon; and a sharp aged cheddar and Gouda.
Savory & Sweet Pairings: Fresh local strawberries, raspberries, and savory olives.

An Afternoon of Eternal Masterpieces at Chartwell Grenadier
Chartwell Grenadier residents and guests recently enjoyed an extraordinary musical journey celebrating the timeless works of Bach, Beethoven, Schubert, Tchaikovsky, and Rachmaninoff.
We were absolutely thrilled to welcome back Nataliya Lepeshkina, an acclaimed virtuoso with an illustrious, lifelong career as a concert performer. Following an overwhelming response from our resident community, this special performance was expanded to welcome our guests, alongside their friends, neighbours, and family members.
It was a beautiful afternoon as we all came together to share the passion, power, and elegance of classical music’s greatest creators.

Chartwell Grenadier proudly hosted a Connected Canadians workshop for local seniors today, opening our doors to both residents and invited guests from the neighborhood. The event featured a special appearance by MP Karim Bardeesy, who attended to show his support for senior digital literacy. A big thank you goes out to General Manager Ken Roy and his dedicated team of volunteers, whose hard work made this excellent educational session possible. The presentation provided invaluable insights on how older adults can safely navigate the internet and confidently use modern technologies.

What a summer!

Thanks to the incredible efforts of our residences and communities across the country, this year’s National Summer Fundraiser raised an amazing $170,000 for Chartwell Wish of a Lifetime - Rêver pour la vie!

Throughout the summer, residents, employees, families, and community members came together through creative events and activities, all with one goal in mind: helping grant meaningful wishes for seniors across Canada.

Thank you to everyone who organized an event, participated, donated, volunteered, or helped spread the word. This incredible result belongs to all of you.

We were so proud to support our Ukrainian community with a day dedicated to heritage, music, and food. The absolute highlight? Our traditional Vareniki Workshop!

Led by the fantastic Maria, our seniors and guests gathered to learn the art of making authentic vareniki. Maria took us on a journey through time, sharing the history and stories behind one of Ukraine’s most popular dishes.

With classic Ukrainian songs playing in the background, the atmosphere truly felt like a cozy, old-fashioned village kitchen. There was so much laughter, singing, and dancing—a beautiful reminder of the strength and joy of Ukrainian traditions!

Day 1 is a beautiful celebration of culture and community! Our residents and Lifestyle team enjoyed crafting traditional Ukrainian Motanka dolls, listening to beautiful Ukrainian violin music, and sharing coffee, tea, and delicious solodoshi (sweets) at the bar with friends and neighbours.
