As August comes to a close, we’re taking a moment to reflect on what this month has reminded us:

✨ Support matters. No family should feel like they have to navigate this journey alone.
✨ Questions are always welcome. Parenthood comes with so many unknowns, and there is never a silly question when it comes to you and your baby.
✨ Every family has a unique journey. There is no one-size-fits-all path through pregnancy, birth, postpartum, or parenthood — and that’s something we will always honour.

Most of all, August reminded us just how grateful we are for our growing PMB Village. 💜

A birth plan isn’t about controlling exactly how your birth will unfold — because birth can be beautifully unpredictable. A birth plan is about communicating your wishes, understanding your options, and making sure your voice is part of the conversation.

Your birth preferences can help your care team understand what matters most to you, including:

✨ Pain management options
✨ Comfort measures and coping techniques
✨ Who you would like present during labour and birth
✨ Newborn care preferences
✨ Feeding goals and preferences

But perhaps one of the most important parts of preparing a birth plan is remembering to stay informed and flexible.

Plans may change. Circumstances may change. And sometimes birth takes a path you never expected. Having preferences doesn’t mean everything has to happen exactly as written — it means you’ve taken the time to learn about your options, think about what matters to you, and communicate those wishes with your support and care teams.

💜 Tuesday Tip: Accept the Help 💜

When you’re caring for a new baby, it can feel like you should be able to do everything yourself. But parenthood was never meant to be carried alone.

When someone you trust offers to help, it’s okay to say yes. 💜

🍲 Let them bring you a meal.
🚿 Let them give you time for a shower.
😴 Let them hold the baby while you take a nap.
☕ Let them sit with you when you need a conversation.

Help doesn’t have to be something big or complicated to make a difference. Sometimes the smallest acts of support can give you the space you need to rest, recharge, and feel a little more like yourself.

Accepting help doesn’t make you less capable. It means you’re allowing your village to care for you while you care for your little one.

MYTH: “A baby’s sleep reflects your parenting.”

FACT: Baby sleep is influenced by so many factors — development, feeding needs, growth spurts, comfort, temperament, and simply being a baby. 🌙

If your little one wakes frequently, needs help settling, or doesn’t sleep the way someone else’s baby does, it does not mean you are doing anything wrong.

There is no parenting scorecard based on how many hours your baby sleeps. Every baby is different, and sleep can change from one night — or even one week — to the next.

So during those late-night feeds, cuddles, rocking sessions, and sleepy walks around the nursery, remember:

💜 You are not failing because your baby wakes.
💜 You are responding to your baby.
💜 You are learning what they need.
💜 And you are showing up for them — even on the exhausting nights.
