Darkness cannot drive out darkness. Hate cannot drive out hate. Only love can do that.

It is easy to meet negativity with more negativity, especially when we feel hurt, frustrated, or misunderstood. But choosing compassion, understanding, and love can create a different kind of impact.

That does not mean ignoring difficult feelings or pretending everything is okay. It means deciding what kind of energy you want to bring into the world, even when it is challenging.

A little more kindness can go further than we realize. ✨

❤️ How can you choose love or kindness today?

💭 What helps you respond with compassion when emotions are high?

🌎 What is one small thing we can all do to bring more positivity into the world?

Change doesn’t always begin with action. Sometimes, it begins with the moment we’re willing to look at ourselves clearly.

Seneca’s words are a reminder that self-reflection is already a form of movement. When we recognize a pattern, question a belief, or become curious about why we respond the way we do, something has already shifted.

Growth isn’t about criticizing the person in the mirror. It’s about noticing, understanding, and choosing what you want to carry forward. 💜

🪞 What have you learned about yourself through reflection lately?

🌱 What’s one part of yourself you’re currently working to understand or change?

💭 Do you think awareness alone can begin to change the way we live?

How can we change the narrative on su***de?

We can start by creating space for honest conversations, listening with compassion, and responding without judgment.

We can challenge stigma, use respectful language, and remind people that asking for help is a sign of strength.

We can notice that having suicidal thoughts does not mean that you're broken, wrong, bad, or irreparable - it only means that you're struggling and deserve support to find a different path forward.

We can also foster workplaces, schools, families, and communities where people feel supported, connected, and safe to speak openly about what they are experiencing.

Changing the narrative begins with how we talk, how we listen, and how we care for one another.

This World Su***de Prevention Day, let’s help build a culture of understanding, connection, and hope.

If you or someone you know is showing signs of suicidality, reach out for support. If you need immediate help or are having thoughts of harming yourself or someone else, call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room. If you require less urgent support, many crisis lines are available including texting or calling 988 from anywhere in Canada. If you require less intensive or immediate support, our team can help. We have a range of therapists and price points to meet you wherever you are in your journey. 👉 Book an appointment with any of our clinicians - https://aws-portal.owlpractice.ca/therapyuninterrupted/booking (links also found in bio).

Therapy Uninterrupted New Therapist Alert!

We're so excited to share that we will have a new student therapist joining our team in September!

Joyce is a Masters of Social Work (MSW) student who is completing her final practicum to become a Registered Social Worker (RSW). She is being actively supervised by our Clinic Director, Haley (MSW,RSW) and will begin taking on new clients starting in mid-September. You can book in to join Joyce's waitlist now to make sure you get in as soon as possible!

Joyce offers supports to adults and adolescents for both individuals and couples in English and Tagalog. She supports people who are struggling to navigate their self-identity in relation to their culture, immigration, life transitions. She also helps clients navigate anxiety, stress, and self-esteem and negative self-talk.

If you are someone who struggles with overthinking, harsh self-criticism, or feeling like you aren’t where you “should” be, Joyce may be a good fit for you. If you often put endless pressure on yourself only to end up feeling anxious and/or overwhelmed or force through stress, this can be a really hard place to be. Navigating these patterns without support can leave you feeling disconnected from yourself. Healing shouldn’t mean “fixing” who you are. Joyce believes that healing through therapy means to collaboratively creating a non-judgmental space to embrace one’s self-acceptance and move forward at your own pace.

If this resonates and you think you'd like to work with Joyce, you can book in for a free video consultation. The link to book your free call can be found in our bio, on our website, or by following this link: https://aws-portal.owlpractice.ca/therapyuninterrupted/booking You can contact Joyce at [email protected]
