You are not your emotions… You are the one experiencing them!
It can be easy to think “I am anxious,” “I am lonely,” or “I am hopeless.” But emotions are experiences we have, not identities we become.
When we create a little space between ourselves and our emotions, we can respond with more intention and self-compassion. Instead of “I am anxious,” try “I am noticing anxiety right now.”
This small shift can remind us that emotions are temporary, even when they feel overwhelming.
Your feelings are real and important but they are not the whole story of who you are.
