Retirement Concepts

Retirement Concepts At Retirement Concepts, we believe in a philosophy that is resident-focused! Retirement Concepts has developed a philosophy that is ‘resident focused’.

We believe our employees are our strength. We are fortunate to have on our team, wonderful people who are compassionate, caring and highly professional. Everyone has a role, and ultimately their only goal is looking after our residents, ensuring their safety, and making sure they and their families feel confident in us. We know that moves are difficult for anyone, and more so for seniors, so it’s important to make the process as simple as possible. There are many retirement homes for seniors, so we also know that in order to remain competitive our standards need to be high, and our prices reasonable. We’re looking to the future. We understand that we must continue developing new programs and innovations for a senior population that is growing and changing by the week. It’s an exciting time for seniors. The choices have never been better and the variety of services is constantly improving.

We had a fabulous Science Fair afternoon at Beacon Hill Villa — from our General Manager trying his hand at Kerplunk and a simulated erupting volcano to a gooey mystery box, a rockhound station, our Director of Care playing tunes on a water-filled xylophone, and hands-on experiments that powered up lights. What a lovely afternoon!

We recently hosted a crib tournament with special guests from our Langley Senior Resources Society — and it was a huge success: 28 attendees enjoyed a day of fun, laughter, and prizes. We’re excited to build on this momentum, so keep an eye out for more events!

The wonderful residents of Waverly Seniors Village share memories of who they once were and who they remain today. Growing older brings change, but some things never do. ❤

At Williams Lake Seniors Village, the most recent team appreciation was a "ribs & bibs" party. Team members were invited to design their own bibs and wear them at the celebration. What a lively, stylish crew—looking fantastic, everyone!

We are welcoming residents home.

We are very pleased to share that approvals have now been received to begin returning residents to Summerland Seniors Village.

The return will take place over approximately five days, beginning today with residents currently staying in Osoyoos and Penticton. Our Long-Term Care residents in Kelowna require more specialized transportation and are planned to return early next week.

Each resident has an individual return plan based on their needs, transportation requirements and the supports required for a safe transition.

This has been an extraordinary few weeks, and we are deeply grateful to our residents, families, team members, Interior Health, HEMBC, receiving communities and everyone who supported us through the evacuation and temporary relocation.

We are incredibly happy to begin welcoming residents and team home.

Summer’s in full swing, and on Laurie’s idea we turned our patio into a cozy mini campsite. We swapped ghost stories, sang campfire songs led by our own Sara, toasted marshmallows and enjoyed gooey S’mores. This is already turning into an annual tradition at Peace Portal Seniors Village! 🏕️
