𝗣𝗿𝗲-𝗔𝗿𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗮𝗹 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗣𝗼𝘀𝘁-𝗔𝗿𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲𝘀 (𝗣𝗔𝗦𝗦) is a national program that 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗽𝘀 𝗻𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲𝘀 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗶𝗻 𝗖𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗱𝗮’𝘀 𝗻𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻, before (approved for Permanent Residency) and after arrival (landed with Permanent Residency) in Canada. PASS is a program of CARE Centre for Internationally Educated Nurses, and is free for participants through funding by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada.

The PASS Program can help you:

✅ understand nursing regulations across Canada
✅ learn how the Canadian health-care system works
✅ develop nursing-specific language skills
✅ connect with nurse mentors and build a professional network
✅ understand the process of foreign credential recognition and licensing
✅ find non-regulated jobs in health care while working toward your license.

• 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗘𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗡𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲𝘀 (𝗜𝗘𝗡𝘀)𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗹𝘆𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗶𝗻 𝗕𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝘀𝗵 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝘂𝗺𝗯𝗶𝗮 𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗬𝘂𝗸𝗼𝗻: No, you do not need to be referred by a regulator. You can begin the application process with Inspire. 🌍

• 𝗜𝗘𝗡𝘀 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗹𝘆𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗶𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗖𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗲/𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆: Reach out to the regulators in Nunavut, Northwest Territories, Manitoba, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Prince Edward Island, or Saskatchewan (RPN only) for their current process. 🍁

• 𝗖𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝗼𝗿 𝗮 𝗻𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲 𝘄𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝗿𝗲-𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗽𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲: Contact the regulator or registry for their current process. Please note, regulators may refer applicants to Inspire Global Assessments based on their practice hours requirement for registration or renewal. 👩‍⚕️

Your assessment journey matters. 💙 The Inspire Global Assessments process helps regulators build a clear, complete picture of your application so they can determine whether you’re ready to practise safely, ethically, and competently in your chosen province.

To do that, they gather information about several parts of your background — including your education, language proficiency, and clinical decision-making. Which is where we come in. Our role is to review your credentials, verify your language evidence, and carry out a competency assessment that highlights both your strengths and any areas for development in your clinical skills and judgement.
