Every corner of HSC relies on a complex network of systems working around the clock to keep our hospital safe and operational for our patients, staff, and visitors.

To celebrate National Healthcare Facilities Engineering week, we’re taking you on a behind-the-scenes tour of the HSC Central Energy Plant – one of the largest in Winnipeg!

A big thank you to our Facilities Management team and power engineers for the work they do every day to keep HSC running smoothly!

HSC is offering PAP tests today at 700 William Ave. (William Avenue Mall).

➡️ DYK? A Pap test can identify abnormalities an reduce your chance of getting cervical cancer by 70 per cent.

Most women aged 21 to 69 who have had sexual contact should have a Pap test every three years. Trans, non-binary, and gender diverse people with a cervix should also have a Pap test every three years.

The HSC Pap Clinic runs today until 5 p.m.

What does a lung look like when it is inflated? 🫁 HSC Intensive Care Nurses answered that question and more today!

HSC visitors had a chance to get a taste of working in an ICU at our annual ICU Open House.

From hands-on activities and patient simulation to guided tours of our adult ICUs, guests got a behind-the-scenes look at critical care, met our incredible ICU team and educators, and explored career opportunities in intensive care nursing.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and to our ICU staff and educators for sharing their knowledge!

It all started with a tip from a friend and a long-haired 19-year-old who didn’t even know where HSC was.

Half a century later, Doug Ruhlen said goodbye to the place where he spent his entire career helping keep HSC moving. Now he is trading the hospital hallways for some well-earned couch time and, in his words, perhaps a new career as a “professional remote-control person.” 📺

Congratulations on an incredible 50 years at HSC, Doug. And happy retirement!

Join us for Manitoba's largest and free healthcare education event! It's open to everybody!

HSC and the University of Manitoba are bringing internationally recognized experts to Bug Day on October 22. They will spend a whole day sharing insights on infectious diseases, public health, and disease prevention.
