Struggling with your CPAP mask fit? The right mask can make a big difference in your comfort, sleep quality and CPAP therapy.

CPAP masks aren’t one-size-fits-all. Depending on your sleeping position, breathing habits and comfort preferences, you may do better with a:

👃 Nasal CPAP mask – covers the nose and works well for many side and back sleepers
💨 Nasal pillow mask – a lightweight, minimal option that sits at the nostrils
😴 Full face CPAP mask – covers the nose and mouth and may be better suited for mouth breathers

If you’re experiencing CPAP mask leaks, pressure marks, dry eyes, claustrophobia or a mask that shifts during the night, your current mask may not be the best fit for you.

At Medigas Manitoba, our CPAP team can help you explore different CPAP mask styles, sizes and fits to find an option that feels comfortable and supports your sleep therapy.

Here’s your reminder to clean your CPAP. 🫧

But how often should you actually be cleaning everything?

A simple CPAP cleaning schedule:

🧼 Daily: Wash your mask cushion or nasal pillows to remove facial oils and buildup.

💧 Daily: Empty your humidifier water chamber and allow it to air dry. Refill with fresh distilled water before use.

🫧 Weekly: Wash your mask, tubing and humidifier chamber with warm water and mild soap, then rinse thoroughly and allow everything to air dry completely.

🌬️ Regularly: Check your CPAP filter and clean or replace it according to your machine manufacturer’s instructions.

Keeping your CPAP equipment clean can help prevent buildup, keep your equipment working properly and make your therapy more comfortable.

Save this as your CPAP cleaning reminder, or send it to someone who needs a reminder!

Waking up with a dry mouth after using your CPAP? You’re definitely not alone.

If your CPAP isn’t feeling comfortable, don’t give up. Our team is here to help you troubleshoot your setup and find solutions that work for you.

Your CPAP mask works hard every night, and regular cleaning is one of the easiest ways to help keep your therapy comfortable and effective.
Over time, your mask can collect facial oils, sweat, dead skin cells, and moisture. This buildup may affect the mask seal, reduce comfort, and contribute to faster wear on your equipment.
Regular cleaning can help:

Maintain a secure mask seal
Reduce air leaks
Improve comfort throughout the night
Extend the life of your mask cushion
Keep your equipment clean and fresh

For best results, wipe your mask cushion daily and wash your mask regularly using warm water and a mild, fragrance-free soap.
Allow all components to air dry completely before reassembling.
Small maintenance habits can make a big difference in the comfort and performance of your CPAP therapy.
