Açaí will always remind me of living in the sun and enjoying it with my girls
Here, I’m showing you just one example of how you can still include the foods you love while creating a balanced meal.
I started with a standard yoghurt, kefir and berry breakfast, then simply added a small scoop of açaí on top. I weighed it today - 50g which I wouldn’t normally do, as after years of practising portion control, I pretty much eyeball my food. I was curious, though, and that scoop was only 50g. 💜
I then chose my toppings carefully rather than loading it up like the ones we enjoy by the pool or on beach walks. I added ¾ of a teaspoon of homemade peanut butter. It goes a long way, but if you use shop-bought peanut butter, you can warm it briefly in the microwave to make it drizzleable — Kelly’s word!🤣
I also kept the granola to one teaspoon. We’re barbecuing later, so I’m practising what I preach and choosing my indulgences.
If you’re by the beach or poolside, enjoy your açaí as it is — an all-singing, all-dancing delicious treat. But if you want to enjoy it on a random Thursday as part of a balanced breakfast, without feeling an energy dip a few hours later, this is one way to do it.
