Archie at Aberdeen Neonatal Unit We are the official charity of the Neonatal Unit at Aberdeen Maternity Hospital, supporting babies born too sick or too soon.

All of the money that is donated and fundraised for Archie at The Neonatal unit goes back into the Unit. We have helped provide enhanced medical equipment, pediatric training & research, and family support for the parents and carers whose babies are in the unit.

A heartfelt thank you to Ceri and the St. James's Place Charitable Foundation for an incredible £10,000 donation to Archie at Aberdeen Neonatal Unit!

Having experienced life on Aberdeen Neonatal Unit first-hand when her son Finlay was admitted to intensive care shortly after birth, this is a cause particularly close to Ceri's heart.

Reflecting on her family's experience, Ceri shared:

"Amongst all that fear and uncertainty, the care, compassion and love shown to us by the neonatal team was something truly special."

She added:

"This donation will help support the most vulnerable babies, and the families who find themselves navigating those incredibly difficult early days, whatever their journey may look like."

The donation was presented during a special visit to Aberdeen Neonatal Unit, made even more meaningful as it marked exactly five years since Finlay's admission, and his fifth birthday!

Ceri, thank you for thinking of Archie and the families we support, and for sharing your story with us. A huge thank you also to St. James’s Place Charitable Foundation for making this wonderful donation possible.

Your generosity will make a real difference to babies, families and staff at Aberdeen Neonatal Unit 💜

Why I took part in Prematuri-tea: Clar's story 💜

From those first weeks in neonatal care to seeing Isabella grow today, every family's journey is unique. For one of our wonderful supporters, Clar, organising a Prematuri-tea was a way to give something back to the people who supported her family along the way.

Reflecting on her experience, she shared:

“Organising the Prematuri-tea in the office last year was so heart-warming. We had so many people who were willing to donate cakes for the sale, donate their time to help on the day with setting up and chat to folks about their own experience.

The Prematuri-tea was my way of saying thanks to the Neonatal team and the Archie Foundation for all their help and support while Isabella was in neonatal for 4 weeks. Everyone was so reassuring and nothing was ever too much. We cannot thank the nurses in neonatal enough”

Stories like Isabella's remind us why supporting neonatal families matters, and how a simple cup of tea and slice of cake can make a difference 💜

Could you host a Prematuri-tea this November?

Whether it's a bake sale at work, an afternoon tea with friends or a cuppa with your community, you can help The Archie Foundation support babies and families receiving neonatal care across the North of Scotland.
