Many people assume reduced hearing is always caused by ear wax – but that's not always the case.

A visual ear examination allows us to see exactly what's happening inside the ear canal and helps determine the most appropriate next step.

Sometimes it's wax. Sometimes it isn't.

That's why assessment is such an important part of every appointment.

You’re having ear wax removal… and suddenly feel the urge to cough.

This is due to something called Arnold’s reflex — a completely normal response caused by a nerve in the ear linked to your throat.

Don’t worry, I always pause treatment if this happens to keep you comfortable.

It’s harmless… just one of those interesting ways the body is connected!

Back from my annual ski trip and, as lovely as it was, I’m definitely feeling it now! ⛷️❄️
Ski season may be coming to an end, but this is often when all those aches and niggles start to appear – sore knees, stiff backs, tight hips and aching shoulders.
A few simple things can really help after skiing:
• Gentle stretching
• Keeping moving rather than resting completely
• Working on hip and core strength
• Looking after any areas that feel tight or stiff
If you’re still feeling sore after your ski holiday, don’t just put up with it – sometimes a few treatments and the right exercises can make a huge difference.
