A Warm Welcome to Our New GP

We are delighted to welcome Dr Bhagwandeen to The Whins Medical Practice, she will be available for appointments on Wednesday mornings and all day on Thursdays and Fridays.

Prescription Request Reminder

Please remember that we do not accept prescription requests over the telephone.

To request your repeat prescription, please use one of the following methods:

✔️ Visit the practice and hand in your request
✔️ Email your request to the practice
✔️ Use the Patient Access app or website

Requesting prescriptions in writing helps to reduce the risk of errors and ensures your medication request is accurate. It also helps keep our phone lines free for patients who need appointments or have urgent medical queries.

Good morning everyone.

Due to reduced clinical staffing today, we kindly ask that requests for GP clinical triage are limited to urgent medical problems only, where possible.

Our reception team remains available to help with routine administrative queries, such as appointments, prescriptions, test result enquiries, and other non-clinical matters.

If your medical problem is not urgent and can safely wait, we would be grateful if you could contact us on the next working day. For advice on minor illnesses, your local community pharmacy may also be able to help.

Public holiday closures for GP practices are set by the Health Board. These days allow our team time to rest and recharge so we can continue providing the best possible care. 💙

We have been notified by our text reminder supplier that there are currently ongoing issues with their system, which may mean appointment reminders are not being sent as usual.

Please ensure you check the date and time of your upcoming appointment when it is booked.

All GP practices across the Forth Valley area will have their clinical system replaced over the next 12 months, as part of a national programme.

This may impact your GP practice services for a short period during the system changeover. However, everything possible will be done to minimise any potential disruption and local GP Practices will contact patients in advance to advise of local arrangements.

The Practice will be closed from 1:00pm on Thursday 14th May for staff training.

We’ll reopen as normal at 8:00am on Friday 15th May.

The GP Out of Hours Service will assess your needs.
