Dragon Osteopaths

Dragon Osteopaths At Dragon Osteopaths, our aim is to provide exceptional osteopathic care to enhance your health and well-being.

We believe in a holistic approach that treats the root cause of your discomfort, not just the symptoms. Both our osteopaths have lived in the area for many years, currently live very close to the Practice and are actively involved in the local community.

What would you like to be able to do more comfortably?

Not “what hurts?”

Not “what’s your diagnosis?”

What do you actually want to get back to doing?

Walking the dog further?
Getting back on the golf course?
Picking the kids up?
Running?
Gardening?
Sitting through a working day without constantly shifting around?

That’s often a much more useful place to start.

We’re a small osteopathy-led clinic here in Sunningdale, and treatment is always shaped around the person in front of us.

Not every reason for seeing an osteopath starts with a dramatic injury.

Sometimes it’s simply:

“My back’s been annoying me for weeks.”

“My neck feels stiff every morning.”

“I can still run, but something just doesn’t feel right.”

“I keep meaning to get this looked at…”

That last one might be our favourite. 😄

At Dragon Osteopaths in , we’ll start by listening, looking at how you’re moving and working out what may be contributing to the problem.

We’ve been talking about our newest Dragon for a little while… and now it’s official. 🐉💚

Emma Billen starts at Dragon Osteopaths on Monday 24th August!
Emma is a registered osteopath with a particular interest in women’s health, including working with women through pregnancy and post-natal recovery, menopause and conditions including endometriosis.

Before becoming an osteopath, Emma worked as a baby and toddler swimming instructor and provided aqua-natal yoga sessions for pregnant women — which is actually where she first discovered osteopathy. She’s also a mum of three herself, so there’s plenty of real-life experience behind her professional interest too.

Emma will initially be with us:
🐉 Mondays & Thursdays
⏰ 9.45am–2pm

She’ll then be extending her availability to four days a week, Monday to Thursday, during the same hours.

We’re really excited to have her joining Chloe and Ashley in the osteopathy team — and appointments with Emma are now available to book.

Welcome to Dragon, Emma!

Shoulder physiotherapy at Dragon Osteopaths
Your shoulder shouldn’t require a warm-up, negotiation and detailed risk assessment before you can put on a coat.

If sleeping, dressing, reaching into a cupboard, lifting, exercising or carrying out everyday tasks has become more difficult because of your shoulder, Dragon Osteopaths offers dedicated shoulder physiotherapy appointments with Lizzie.

Lizzie is an experienced physiotherapist with a particular interest in shoulder assessment and rehabilitation.

A shoulder physiotherapy appointment is designed to look properly at what’s happening rather than simply handing you a generic exercise sheet and sending you on your way.
Your initial appointment lasts up to 60 minutes and may include:
• A detailed conversation about your symptoms
• Assessment of your shoulder movement
• Strength and function testing
• Consideration of your work, hobbies, sport and daily activities
• A rehabilitation plan tailored to your individual needs
• Clear advice about the next appropriate steps

The aim is to understand how the problem is affecting you and what you need your shoulder to be able to do.

That might mean getting back to the gym, returning to a sport, sleeping more comfortably, fastening clothing, lifting your children or simply reaching the top shelf without regretting the decision.

You can find out more about Lizzie and the shoulder physiotherapy service here:
https://www.dragonosteopaths.co.uk/physiotherapy.html
Appointments take place at our clinic in Sunningdale, serving patients from Ascot, Virginia Water, Egham and the surrounding area.

You don’t need a GP referral to book.

💚 Wishing Lucy all the very best! 🐉

This week we said a very fond goodbye to Lucy as she finished her final days with us at Dragon Osteopaths.

Lucy has been a wonderful part of Dragon and has helped and supported so many people during her time with us. We know there will be plenty of patients and familiar faces locally who will join us in wishing her all the very best for whatever comes next.

While we’re very sad to see her go, we’re incredibly grateful for everything she’s brought to the clinic and hope she’ll take lots of happy memories with her.

Thank you for everything, Lucy — from all of us at Dragon Osteopaths. We’ll miss you! 💚🐉

And just like that, Lucy has officially left the Dragon building. 🐉💚

After being such a big part of Dragon Osteopaths, Lucy has now finished her final day with us and is heading off to start her next chapter.

We’re going to miss having her around enormously, but we’re also really excited for her and everything that comes next.

Thank you, Lucy, for everything you’ve brought to Dragon, for all the patients you’ve looked after and for being such an important part of the team.

Luckily, her patients still have plenty of familiar and new faces here to look after them, with Chloe, Ashley and Emma all seeing osteopathy patients at Dragon.

Good luck Lucy — we’ll miss you! 💚🐉

So apparently there was an eclipse last night. 🌒

Chloe’s dogs took varying approaches to this.
Two of them appear to have decided that looking vaguely interested was sufficient.

The third was taking absolutely no chances.

We’re not entirely sure what scientific advice led to the wearing of a colander, but she does seem very confident in her decision.

Safety first. Probably. 😂🐶

Osteopathy appointments in Sunningdale
Back complaining every time you stand up?
Neck refusing to turn properly when you’re driving?
Shoulders gradually creeping closer to your ears as the working week goes on?

Or perhaps something just feels stiff, uncomfortable or not quite right, and ignoring it hasn’t proved to be the successful long-term strategy you were hoping for.

Dragon Osteopaths currently has osteopathy appointments available for new and existing patients at our Sunningdale clinic.
Osteopathy isn’t simply about “putting something back in place”, and it’s definitely not exclusively for people with back pain.
An appointment may involve discussing your symptoms and medical history, assessing how you move, examining the area that’s bothering you and considering whether other parts of the body may be contributing.

Where treatment is appropriate, your osteopath will discuss the available options with you. This may include hands-on treatment, movement advice, exercises or practical suggestions to help you manage the issue between appointments.

You can read more about how we approach osteopathy here:
https://www.dragonosteopaths.co.uk/osteopathy.html

Your first appointment lasts up to 60 minutes, allowing time for a detailed conversation and assessment rather than rushing straight into treatment without understanding what’s going on.
We’re also quite happy to tell you when osteopathy doesn’t appear to be the right option. Honest advice and appropriate onward referral are part of doing things properly.

Right, we’re going to be honest: the clinic diary has rather more breathing room than we’d like at the moment. 🤦🏽‍♀️😬

So, this is a proper introduction for anyone locally who’s been thinking about booking an appointment, has something that’s been grumbling for longer than it should, or simply wants to know a little more about who we are and what we do.

Dragon Osteopaths is a small, friendly clinic based at Old Boundary House in Sunningdale, welcoming patients from Ascot, Virginia Water, Egham and the surrounding area.
Our services include:
• General osteopathy
• Dedicated shoulder physiotherapy
• Osteopathy for professional voice users
• A selection of complementary treatments

People come to us with a range of musculoskeletal aches, pains, stiffness, tension and difficulty moving comfortably. Every appointment begins with a proper conversation about what’s been happening, how it’s affecting you and what you’d like to get back to doing.

There’s no conveyor belt and no standard treatment handed to everybody who walks through the door. We assess each person individually, explain what we find and discuss the options with you.
