🕊 Alwyn ‘Dill’ Evans 1960 – 2026 🕊
With immense sadness and disbelief, we announce that Alwyn, affectionately known as Dill, sadly passed away on 24th May 2026, aged 66 years.
Among the tremendous number of condolence messages received by his family, Dill has been remembered as a legend by those who knew and loved him. A man who lived life to the full, at full volume. He will be remembered for his unwavering loyalty, kindness, infectious humour and huge laugh.
Dill loved his family deeply, this love was matched only by his lifelong dedication to Cardiff City FC. A passionate Bluebird, Cardiff City was his first love. He was also a devoted follower of local side Llantwit Major and Wales . There is no question that his passion, presence, and larger-than-life character will be greatly missed on the terraces and by his Bluebird family.
A much loved husband of Jane, a loving and devoted dad to Michael, stepdad to Sam and Tom, and a treasured Bampi, son, brother, uncle and son-in-law, father-in-law and brother-in-law. He will be forever loved and missed by his family, his many friends, and everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.
A service celebrating Dill’s life will take place on Friday 19th June at Coychurch Crematorium at 2.45pm. His celebration will continue afterwards at his second home, Llantwit Major Football Club.
Donations in Dill’s memory would be gratefully received for St Peter’s Hospice, Bristol, whose outstanding care and compassion brought comfort to Dill and his family in his final days. LMFC will also receive a share of this, as Dill would want.
