Rail Safety Week is just around the corner (15–21 June).

Across the industry, it’s a chance to refocus on what really matters, keeping people safe on and around the railway.

But awareness is only part of it.

How are you delivering safety on site?

For many rail teams, access, time, and operational pressures make training and equipment deployment a challenge.

That’s where mobile solutions can make a real difference.

Our mobile training unit brings:
- Practical, on-site training
- Real equipment, in real environments
- Minimal disruption to operations

Helping teams stay compliant, capable, and ready when it matters.

Who’s calling for help in an emergency?

It sounds simple, but in reality, it’s often unclear.

In rescue situations, communication is critical.

Delays, confusion, or incomplete information can slow everything down.

That’s why having a clear structure matters.

In Episode 3 of our Rescue Specialist series, we break down:

- Who should call for help
- How that communication should happen
- And how to use a METHANE report to deliver clear, structured information

Simple, but essential.

When working at height, the goal isn’t to stop a fall…

It’s to prevent it happening in the first place.

Work restraint systems are designed to keep you away from the edge but only if they’re set up and used correctly.

In the full video we break down:

- How restraint systems work
- Why adjustability matters
- And how to stay protected as your position changes

The teams were intrigued… and they weren’t disappointed.

Recently, our own Keith teamed up with Jamie from Skylotec to deliver a hands-on power ascender demonstration day with Network Rail teams at Grateley Station.

Using the Skylotec ICX and ACX, teams explored how powered ascenders could support real operational challenges including:

- Embankments
- Bridges & viaducts
- SRT operations
- Difficult access areas
- Trackside working

What made the day valuable wasn’t just talking about the equipment, it was getting teams hands-on with it.

The ICX was properly put through its paces:
Rope handling, positioning around branches, moving through obstacles and testing how the device performs in realistic climbing situations.

The conversations quickly shifted from curiosity to:

“Where could we use this in our own teams?”

We provide:
1️⃣ Training
2️⃣ Hire
3️⃣ Servicing
4️⃣ Sales & support
5️⃣ On-site demo days

We’re currently putting together a full video from the day showcasing the demonstration - coming soon.

In the meantime, you can read the full breakdown of the demo day, photos, and how power ascenders could support rail and infrastructure operations:

Not all confined space gases behave the same way.

When things go wrong in confined spaces, it’s often because hazardous gases are present.

Two common types you’ll encounter are:

1️⃣ Toxic (poisonous) gases:
Gases that mix with the atmosphere and affect the body when inhaled

2️⃣ Asphyxiant gases:
Gases that displace oxygen and reduce the amount available for breathing

Both can be extremely dangerous, but they affect the body in very different ways.

Understanding the atmosphere you’re working in is critical for safe confined space operations.

Falls from height remain the leading cause of workplace fatalities in the UK.

That’s why we’re supporting No Falls Week (19–23 May).

It’s a simple reminder:

Falls are preventable.

Take a moment this week to:
- Review your systems
- Check your equipment
- Refresh your thinking around safety

Because preparation makes the difference when it matters.

Launched in 2024 in the UK, No Falls Week’s mission is simple yet crucial: to raise awareness about the importance of safe working at height. Whether you work in construction, manufacturing, agriculture or any other sector, our campaign aims to equip you with the knowledge, tools, and inspiration ...

Work restraint is one of the safest ways to manage work at height.

But it’s also one of the most commonly misunderstood systems on site.

In simple terms, restraint is designed to prevent a worker from reaching a fall hazard in the first place.

If the system is set correctly, the worker physically cannot get to the edge where a fall could occur.

In the full video, Andy explains the basics of restraint systems, including:

- What restraint actually is
- Why the system must remain tight
- Common mistakes seen on site
- Simple configurations that can solve many work at height problems

When used correctly, restraint can eliminate fall risk in many situations.

Confined space training doesn’t fail overnight.

It fades.

Gradually. Quietly. Over time.

Until one day, under pressure, the details aren’t as clear as they should be.

That’s the risk.

Because rescue situations don’t give you time to think twice.

We’ve put together a new blog breaking down:

- Why skills fade happens
- Why it matters in high-risk environments
- How to reinforce training on-site
