🩵 Carers Week at The Grange 🩵

To mark Carers Week, the team at The Grange have been celebrating the incredible people who make such a difference to residents’ lives every day.

Their kindness, compassion, dedication, and hard work help make The Grange so much more than just a place to live – creating a warm and welcoming home where residents feel valued, respected, and cared for.

Throughout the week, Home Manager, Carmen Miclea, has been showing her appreciation with sweet treats, thank-you gifts, and special tokens of recognition for the team, acknowledging the important role they play each day.

The week has also included some well-deserved individual recognition.

A special tribute was paid to Chef Debbie, who continually goes above and beyond to ensure every resident can enjoy delicious meals, regardless of their dysphagia needs or modified food requirements. This week, Debbie created beautifully presented pureed scones that were both safe and enjoyable to eat while looking just as appetising as the original. They proved a huge hit with residents and showcased the care, creativity, and skill she brings to her role.

The Grange also celebrated its latest Employee of the Month award, presented to Senior Carer, Janet, in recognition of her unwavering kindness, compassion, and dedication to residents. Janet consistently goes above and beyond, making a positive difference every day through her caring and supportive approach, while also serving as a fantastic role model for her colleagues.

Congratulations and thank you to both Debbie and Janet, and to every member of the team at The Grange for the outstanding care you provide each and every day.

✨ Supporting Our Veterans ✨

We are incredibly proud to celebrate another significant achievement at Springfield Manor Care Home, following the home's recent Veteran Friendly Framework accreditation.

Home Manager, Rebecca Jones, and her care team were delighted to receive a letter of congratulations from Gareth Snell MP, recognising their commitment to creating a supportive, understanding and respectful environment for veterans living within the home.

The accreditation reflects Springfield Manor's dedication to recognising the unique experiences of those who have served in the Armed Forces, ensuring they continue to feel valued, respected and supported throughout later life.

Congratulations to the entire Springfield Manor team on this well-deserved achievement and for making such a positive difference to the lives of veterans and their families.

💍 Sharing Special Moments 💍

Our team at The Elms are always on hand to support special requests, and recently had the pleasure of helping resident John watch his daughter's wedding.

John wasn't able to attend the ceremony in person to see his daughter, Sharman, get married. To ensure he didn't miss out, the care team organised a live stream for the wedding so John could watch his daughter walk down the aisle and talk to her on her special day.

We'd like to say a huge congratulations to Sharman and her husband Dean on their recent wedding and we are delighted to have been able to support their family so John could be part of this wonderful occasion.

🏐 Keeping Active at Cranswick Lodge🏐

At Cranswick Lodge, we like to try and keep active, so this week we brought back one of our favourite activities, balloon volleyball!

The residents love the lively music and the challenge of trying to keep the balloon in the air. To keep them on their toes, the activity team like to up the ante by adding more than one balloon into the mix.

Not only does this bring lots of our residents together with an inclusive activity, it also brings out their competitive edge which is great to see.

🎈💬 Fun and Games at The Grange Care Home! 💬🎈

There was lots of laughter and good conversation as residents enjoyed a game of Toss and Talk Ball with our Wellbeing Co-ordinator, Sally. 💬

Using a brightly coloured beach ball, residents took turns catching the ball before answering a question linked to a randomly selected colour and number. Questions included things like "What was your first job?", "What was your favourite holiday destination?" and "What makes you smile?" 🏐🏖️

The activity sparked some wonderful conversations, funny stories and cherished memories, with everyone enjoying learning more about each other. Sally also took the game on a 1-to-1 visit to residents in their bedrooms, and even staff joined in on the fun! 😊

🐹 Adorable Visitors at Figham House Care Home! 🐹

Wheeks of Wellness brought along two very special guests, Cookie and Marshmallow, to visit our home! Residents enjoyed stroking the adorable guinea pigs and even helping to feed them some tasty vegetables. 🥕🥬

Animal visits are always a wonderful way to spark conversation, bring back happy memories and brighten everyone's day. Thank you to Wheeks of Wellness for such a lovely visit! 🐾

🌟 Celebrating Person-Centred Care at The Grange Care Home 🌟

Resident Michael enjoys keeping busy and has a long-standing interest in plumbing and fixing things. Senior Carer Janet went the extra mile by reaching out to local plumbers to source safe plumbing tools and pipe fittings for him to enjoy. 🌟🪛

Since receiving them, Michael has been happily spending time connecting pipes and fittings, fully engaged in an activity that is familiar, meaningful and brings him a real sense of purpose.

It's moments like these that show how understanding our residents' interests and life stories can make a real difference. By understanding what matters to each individual, we can create opportunities that support wellbeing, independence and joy.

Well done, Janet, for making such a positive difference and for showing what person-centred care is all about! 👏

💪 Afternoon Exercise at Foresters Lodge Care Home 💪

Residents took part in their daily exercise session with Elder Fit Fitness! Regular exercise is a fantastic way to keep both body and mind active, helping to improve strength, mobility and overall wellbeing. Most importantly, it's a great opportunity to have fun together! Everyone joined in at their own pace, and it was wonderful to see so much enthusiasm and so many happy faces throughout the session.

A fantastic afternoon was had by all, and we're already looking forward to the next workout! 🌟
