Last few places available to tell us what you think. We’d like to hear from people who are currently under our care or have past experience of our services to help us understand what’s working well and what we could change to become even better.

We’re looking to chat to people from the following two groups:

• People with a life-limiting illness currently under our care
• Family members and carers who’s loved one received our care within the last five years.

If this is you and you’d like to find out more, please use this form to register your interest: https://forms.cloud.microsoft/Pages/ResponsePage.aspx?id=tquPoCo-oUewyKZcVdgSNEorYIvDB6NHluDH_uctq4hUNzE0RENEWlBaWkZVN0RBSzkzTkZXVzZORC4u

If you would prefer to do this over the phone, call us on 01275 391437 to speak to one of the team.

Last month saw the 5th Annual Molly Tuckwell Memorial Ride, held in loving memory of Molly Tuckwell, who received care from the Hospice in 2022.

What began as a tribute organised by Molly's father, Jules Tuckwell, together with Easy Riders Bristol, We Are Bristol's Bikers, Ride2Raise and Bikers of Bristol, has grown into a fantastic annual event. Thanks to their dedication and the generosity of supporters, this year's ride raised £4,083.75, which takes the total raised for the Hospice in Molly's memory to more than £68,000.

We are incredibly grateful to everyone who has helped make this event such a success.

In June, Jeff Way Group hosted their annual Golf Day and raised an incredible £10,000. ⛳

They've now raised over £250,000 since they started supporting St Peter's in 2008.

Founders Jean and Jeff Way became familiar with St Peter’s when Jean’s brother, Steve, was cared for at the end of his life. Jean and Jeff were later cared for at the Hospice too and now their family - Chris, Neil and Jennine continue to support us.

Last week we presented Chris, Neil and Jennine with an engraved leaf on our Memory Tree, dedicated to Jeff and Jean, as a way to mark their incredible fundraising achievement.

Thank you, Jeff Way Group, for your support. 💙

Last week, we welcomed Mr Nicks Mobile Desserts to our Inpatient Unit for a much needed cool down for both our patients and team 🍦

One of our patients had been reminiscing about the joy of buying an ice cream from a Mr Whippy van as a child on a sunny day, so we decided to make that memory come to life. Mr Nicks very kindly visited the IPU, complete with the classic ice cream van tune, helping to make the patient's wish come true.

As one patient said: "It brought happiness to a sad situation. Just because we are dying doesn't mean we haven't got life to live."

Of course, our team also treated themselves to an ice cream or two, and the visit brought a welcome moment of joy for everyone.

Looking back at last month's Open Gardens Day 🌻

In June, gardening enthusiasts, nature lovers and Hospice supporters came together for our third Open Gardens Day and helped us raise over £7,500 to support local patients and their families.

It wouldn't have been possible without the support of our local community, including:
💙 Our incredible volunteers.
🎨 Performers, guest speakers and stallholders.
🐝 Our Kitchen, Gardens and Estate teams, who were very busy bees in the lead-up to the big day!

Thank you to Castell Howell and NFU Mutual for kindly providing supplies for our delicious cream teas and supporting our art workshops. We’re also very grateful to the generous local groups and businesses who donated beautiful flowers, along with prizes for our raffle.

Our Open Gardens Day really is a community effort. Thank you to everyone who bought a ticket and took the time to enjoy the Hospice in bloom.
