I was going through my TikTok videos and came across this one 🥹❤️ Do you all remember this one?

Look how far Jensen has come! 🥹❤️

We always remember walking into the parents' kitchen/room on the ward and seeing leaflets and posters all around the room… but every single one of them was about cancer.

And please don't get us wrong, cancer awareness is incredibly important. Those leaflets and posters absolutely should be there ❤️ But we remember thinking how sad it was that there wasn't even one about aplastic anaemia.

Because Jensen was going through so much of the same treatment, the same hospital stays, the same fear and uncertainty… yet there was nothing there that represented what he was going through.

And this is exactly why we do what we do on Jensen's Story. We're not trying to take anything away from cancer awareness. We're simply trying to make sure that aplastic anaemia gets some of that same recognition too.

A child — or even an adult — going through treatment for aplastic anaemia deserves to be seen too. They deserve recognition. They deserve to have their illness understood. They deserve to know they're not the only ones going through it.

Aplastic anaemia might not be cancer, but it can turn a family's whole world upside down just the same.

So if sharing Jensen's story helps even one family feel a little less alone, or helps one more person understand what aplastic anaemia actually is…
then we'll keep doing it.

This isn’t just another appeal for us — there’s a real reason and a whole lot of heart behind what we do.

We lived it, Jensen had to live it and breathe it, and we do this for awareness, not publicity.

🎄🎁 Toy Appeal Update 🎁🎄

I hate that things have got confusing 🙈 so let's start again...

​We want to clear a few things up as a few of you have been asking about donating - sooo very kind of you all! 🫶🏻

Unfortunately, ​we’re not running a big public toy collection this year now... Our original toy appeal this year is something we've unfortunately had to step away from... I’m not going to go into all the ins and outs because I really don’t want any drama 🙈. There is a reason behind it, but it’s something I’m going to keep private.

Just to be clear, this has absolutely nothing to do with Addenbrooke’s or the hospital.

Instead, Ben Hurcombe , Jensen, Julie Bushby and I are putting together a small, private collection ourselves and dropping the toys off directly for the kids. 🎁❤️

We know a few lovely people have already bought toys specifically for Jensen’s Story, and we’re more than happy to add those to our collection - thank you 🫶🏻

Drop off is ONLY at Tesco Wisbech, they are kindly staying as a collection point for us - or you can message me for an alternative :)

This year, our main fundraising efforts are focusing on The Aplastic Anaemia Trust, which means the world to us.

Jensen stayed home from school today with a cold, little cough and sore throat. He woke up feeling exhausted and a little sick. Thankfully his throat was feeling a bit better today.

But he keeps asking me, “Am I going to get better?” 🥺

It got me thinking about how we see children smiling, laughing, playing and getting on with life, but we don't always know what's going on inside their little minds.

As his mum, I definitely don't just see a cough and think, “He'll be fine.” 😂🙈 Every cough, sniffle or temperature can take me straight back to those early days.

For Jensen, a simple cold might just be a cold… but it can also bring back memories of hospitals, transfusions, antibiotics, isolation and so much uncertainty. Maybe sometimes “Am I going to get better?” is about more than just today.

His temperature is thankfully okay 🙏🏻 He's had Calpol and his Pen V and is now tucked up in bed.
Tonight is about rest and reminding him that yes, he will get better. Children can be incredibly resilient, but that doesn't mean they aren't still carrying things with them.

Sometimes they just need us to listen and remind them they're safe. ❤️

Gave blood tonight. 🩸❤️

And honestly, after the last few days, this is exactly what I needed. I've been questioning myself a lot lately. Wondering if I'm doing enough, whether what I'm doing actually matters and even questioning my own intentions, but tonight kind of reminded me… this is why I do it.

Sitting in that chair was a solid reminder...this is why I do it.

​Jensen’s Story exists because of what we lived through with Aplastic Anaemia. Blood, platelets, stem cells, and raising awareness—that’s the core of everything we do. We’ve been that family sitting in the hospital, relying on complete strangers to save our child. We know what those donations mean.

I know I can’t fix everything for everyone. But I can choose where my energy goes. And I’m always going to put it into helping people who need blood, platelets, and stem cell donors, and keeping the spotlight on Aplastic Anaemia. ❤️

It was great seeing so many people at Wisbech fire station tonight giving blood. Every single one of them is helping someone, probably without ever knowing just how much.

I had a good chat with the staff too and they were asking lots about Jensen and Aplastic Anaemia. They were honestly so lovely.

Also, my blood was apparently in a massive hurry tonight 😂 The nurse was completely shocked at how fast it flowed & filled that bag!

I've also had an assessment for platelet donation as I'm the right blood type, so now I just have to wait and see if I'm eligible for that, Either way, whatever happens, if I can give platelets, brilliant. If I can't, I'll continue giving blood for as long as I can. I’m in this for the long haul.

I think I just needed tonight to remind myself that I'm doing my best. ❤️ And that's enough for me.

And don't worry—I definitely didn't skip the orange squash and Orange Club on the way out! 😂

On 14th November, we're holding a bingo night with Rob, raising money for the Aplastic Anaemia Trust through Jensen's Story 🩸

We'd like to say a massive thank you to Rob for supporting Jensen & our appeal.

We're hoping to get as many people there as possible and have a brilliant night while raising some much-needed money for a charity that's incredibly close to our hearts.

BUT… here's the bit that's making me panic slightly… 😬😂

WE NEED PRIZES! 🎁
