"I cannot put into words how grateful I am to the wonderful staff who looked after me during the birth of my baby boy on the 23rd May. Having been anxious in pregnancy, I was very nervous when we arrived at hospital in the middle of the night as this was my first baby but immediately felt reassured under the safe care of Betty, who was so supportive and kind. A special thanks have to go to midwife Fleur and student midwife Riley who then looked after us. I honestly couldn’t have got through the day without you both. Despite a difficult labour with a cheeky baby who was back to back with me and whose HR kept dropping on the CTG, the two of you kept me calm throughout the day and were constantly radiating positivity. I loved our chats and laughs and having you both by my side all day made me feel completely at ease and safe. I was gutted to say goodbye to you both when your shifts ended! As I had a stubborn baby who did not want to get into the right position, we did end up needing forceps to get him out safely, a decision made after careful consideration and discussions with the midwives and obstetricians Dr Ash and Dr Ruben. Thank you both for your empathetic and calm approach, you were both fantastic and ensured that both mine and my baby’s safety was prioritised at all times. What initially was a very daunting situation for me ended up being a really calm and positive experience, all the staff in the theatre were amazing, and our baby boy safely arrived at 16.22 on the 23rd May.

The care we received in the T2 recovery ward and postnatal ward was excellent. Sorry, I can’t remember everyone’s names but we were looked after so well, and the midwives and HCAs couldn’t do enough for us.
Thank you so much to everyone who helped looked after us - I was so nervous about the unknowns of giving birth but all staff involved in our care made the experience extremely positive, despite not having a straightforward labour or delivery!

"I am one week postpartum and myself and Matt are still talking about the unbelievable care and love we got from the amazing team of nurses, surgeons, my favourite anaesthetist Raf, and all the wonderful midwives.
Through each stage of panic I felt (including how to feed correctly, learning how to stand up again, and understanding ‘wet lung’) the team looked after me so well, explained everything in detail and were on hand 24 hours. It was such an incredible experience because of the team. Tommy is already an ounce heavier than his birth weight so the lovely Lactation expert who visited me knows her stuff!!!"

🤱 A huge congratulations to Kate and her family on the arrival or adorable little Tommy!! Thank you for sharing 🥰
