It is a deeply saddening and concerning read, and our thoughts are with every woman, baby and family affected.

At Nurturing Somerset Together, we are here to offer additional private support alongside NHS care. Whether you need extra education, reassurance or simply someone to listen, our aim is to help women and families feel informed, empowered and supported throughout their pregnancy, birth and postnatal journey. 🤍

🌿1:1 Antenatal, Birth & Postnatal Education – £135🌿

Our experienced midwife, Becky, with over 25 years of maternity experience, offers personalised 1:1 antenatal, birth and postnatal education sessions in the comfort of your own home.

These appointments are available from 28 weeks of pregnancy and are individually tailored to you, your birth preferences and any questions or concerns you may have. We are passionate about helping families feel informed, empowered and confident as they prepare to welcome their baby.

During your sessions we’ll cover everything you need to know, including:
• Pregnancy and preparing for birth
• Labour and birth
• Pain relief options
• Birth planning
• Postnatal recovery
• Newborn care
• Infant feeding
• Your partner’s role and how they can best support you

Evening appointments are available to fit around your schedule. We encourage your partner, birth partner or another supportive person to attend, so they feel confident and equipped to support you throughout pregnancy, birth and beyond.

As an optional extra, we can also include a gentle ‘Listen In’ to your baby’s heartbeat, making your session even more special.

£135 (A small fuel charge applies for appointments more than 15 miles from Chard.)

☀️ Becks Top Tips ☀️

In the warmer weather, breastfed babies do not need extra water — they simply need extra feeds to stay hydrated 🫶

Breast milk naturally adapts to your baby’s needs and provides the hydration they need during hot weather. Offering feeds little and often is completely normal in the heat.

Bottle-fed babies can be offered small amounts of cooled boiled water as extra hydration in hot weather, but this should never replace their milk feeds.

Keep babies cool, feed responsively, and enjoy the sunshine safely 🌿
