Sparklers, bonfires and firework smoke in the air this Bonfire Night! 🎆

A few things to keep in mind if you're heading out to watch the display:

👀 Keep a safe distance from fireworks and sparklers
💨 Smoke and cold air can leave eyes feeling a bit gritty, so blink often
✨ Bright flashes in the dark can leave your eyes needing a moment to adjust, so avoid staring directly at the flashes.

We had a great time looking at new frames from Etnia Barcelona last week with one of our favourite patients, Kay. We’ve done lots of shopping and Mia may have nabbed herself a new pair … again. The new collection should be coming in over the next couple of weeks so watch this space!

Do your eyes feel tired, gritty or uncomfortable lately? It might be dry eye, which happens when your eyes don't make enough tears or the tears you do have aren't good enough quality to keep things comfortable. As the weather cools, central heating and chilly wind can both make it worse.

A few quick tips:

👀 Blink more often, especially when concentrating
♨️ Angle heating vents away from your face
💧 Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water
👁️ Keep some lubricating eye drops handy for on-the-go
