📱 Fewer calls, less waiting – order your prescriptions via the NHS App!

Great news – there’s been an update to the NHS App that makes managing your repeat prescriptions even easier 🙌

You can now:
✅ See all your repeat medications in one place
✅ View items even if they’re not yet due to order
✅ Get clear explanations (e.g. if it’s too soon or a review is needed)
This means no more confusion about “missing” items – everything is visible and easy to understand

💡 Why use the NHS App?
Ordering through the app is the quickest and easiest way to manage your prescriptions. It helps reduce phone calls, saves staff time, and allows us to focus on patient care.

👉 Help us help you – please order your repeat prescriptions directly through the NHS App wherever possible and cut out the middleman!

⚠️ Looking ahead
To help us streamline how patients contact the surgery and improve efficiency, we may in future review alternative ordering methods such as email. Using the NHS App now will help make this transition much smoother.

💉World Immunisation Week (24-30 April)💉

This week is all about raising awareness of how vaccines protect you, your family, and our community.

Vaccinations are one of the most effective ways to prevent serious illness and save lives. They don't just protect you—they also help stop the spread of disease to those who are most vulnerable, including babies and people with weakened immune systems.

🔑Key things to know:🔑

✔️ Vaccines are thoroughly tested for safety and are continually monitored.
✔️ Mild side effects can happen, but they are usually short-lived.
✔️It's safe to have multiple vaccines when needed
✔️There is no evidence linking vaccines to autism
✔️High vaccination rates help reduce and even eliminate diseases.

😆Thanks to vaccination, illnesses like smallpox are gone, and others such as polio are now very rare.😆

Make sure you and your family are up to date with routine vaccinations.

👉Public health will write to you if you or your child are overdue any vaccination’s.👈

🚨 Patient Notice – COVID Vaccination Clinic Tomorrow 🚨

Tomorrow, we will be running a large COVID vaccination clinic for over 800 patients at the surgery.

Due to the high number of patients attending throughout the day, parking will be extremely limited. If you are attending the surgery, please allow extra time where possible and consider alternative transport if you are able to do so. 🚗

Please be reassured that routine & urgent on the day GP appointments will still be taking place as normal during the clinic. Our team will be working hard to support both vaccination patients and those attending for usual appointments.

We kindly ask for your patience & understanding while visiting the surgery, as the building and car park are likely to be busier than usual. 🙏

Thank you for your cooperation and for helping us continue to protect our community. 💙

An Honest Update:

We like to be open and transparent with our patients about current pressures affecting our service.

In the last couple of weeks we have been experiencing reduced staffing levels due to ongoing staff sickness and the Resident Doctors strike action. This is placing additional pressure on our clinical and administrative teams.

As a result, you may have noticed:
• Longer waiting times on the telephone
• Reduced availability of routine appointments
• Delays in responding to non-urgent enquiries
• Changes to how we deliver some services to prioritise urgent and clinically necessary care

Our priority remains the safe care of our patients. Our teams are working hard to maintain services and support patients during this challenging period. Staff may be working across different roles and covering additional duties to help ensure urgent care continues to be available.

We kindly ask patients to:
• Be patient and understanding with our team
• Use online services where possible
• Consider Pharmacy First for minor illnesses
• MIU (Minor illness and injury unit)
• GHAC (Gloucestershire health access centre)
• Request urgent appointments only for urgent medical needs

If you require urgent medical attention, please continue to contact the practice. If you need medical advice outside of our opening hours, please contact NHS 111. In a life-threatening emergency, please call 999.

We understand delays can be frustrating and we sincerely appreciate your patience, kindness and understanding during this time.

Thank you for your continued support.
