Welcome to Windlesham Manor. We have been a family run care home for 50 years and one of the oldest in Crowborough.

Well, Sir Arthur Conan-Doyle found inspiration here and we hope you will too. Windlesham Manor is a family-owned and run care home for the elderly in the heart of beautiful Sussex countryside where Sir Arthur lived for many years and wrote many of his works. Here at Windlesham our philosophy is that you go on flourishing throughout life and we find our residents do just that. It may be the interes

ting activities that are arranged and participated in, our chef’s delicious meals or just simply that the house and it’s lovely grounds are the perfect recipe. You don’t need to be Sherlock Holmes to see it happening! A country house setting on the outskirts of Crowborough, East Sussex, close to Crowborough Beacon Golf Club and the Ashdown Forest. The former and much-loved home of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, now sympathetically extended, retains much of its original character and provides excellent accomodation for up to 40 residents. Windlesham Manor has gained a reputation over a forty year period for the highest standards of residential care. Its full-trained staff emphasise that this is a home and not an institution where caring for loved ones is undertaken in partnership with families. Paying close attention to each individual’s unique and personal needs and enabling them to live as independently as possible is a core principle.

Summer Party Part Two – Food Worth Queueing For! 🍽️☀️
Our Summer Party was a true feast from start to finish, lovingly prepared by our incredible in-house kitchen team.
From whole sides of delicate salmon and perfectly bronzed BBQ chicken to sizzling sausages topped with crispy onions, juicy burgers, homemade seasonal salads and fresh coleslaw, there was something for everyone to enjoy.
And of course, no celebration is complete without dessert! Homemade chocolate brownies, lemon drizzle cake and our spectacular ice cream bar stole the show, with seven delicious flavours and a wonderful selection of toppings including fresh strawberries and mini doughnuts.
A huge thank you to our fantastic kitchen team for treating our residents, their families and friends to such an amazing spread. We are incredibly proud that this same care, passion and quality go into the delicious homemade meals our residents enjoy every single day.

☀️✈️ Summer has arrived at Windlesham Manor! 🌍 ☀️
We believe every one of our residents deserves a summer holiday, so this year we are bringing the holiday to them!

Each week throughout the summer we will be travelling to a different country through delicious food, music, decorations and activities. It couldn’t be more fitting with the Football World Cup, as we will be visiting some of the countries competing in the tournament.
🇪🇸 Our first destination: Spain!

Our wonderful kitchen team prepared a spectacular Spanish feast, complete with traditional dishes, while the home was beautifully decorated to create a true Mediterranean atmosphere. From the delicious paella to the colourful table settings, it really did feel like we’d been transported to sunny Spain! ☀️🍽️ A huge thank you to our fantastic kitchen and care teams for making the day so special for our residents.

🇸🇪 Next stop… Sweden! We can’t wait to see where our summer adventures take us next.
