The relationship between the funeral director and the family is one that is built around trust, honesty and transparency.
We are therefore pleased to see the removal of adverts such as those below, in this case by a company called ‘Pure Cremations’ as in our opinion, they do not reflect the truth of the service provided, thus misleading the general public into believing they are receiving a service which is anything but what is described.
A number of companies provide these ‘direct channel’ funerals. A direct or non-attended cremation through these channels is purely the collection of a deceased person who is then taken to a central crematorium and cremated with the ashes being posted back to the family – there is nothing more or less to it than that.
We appreciate that funerals are always going to be a matter of personal taste and as such, we provide these types of service, although allow the family to choose the crematorium, to have their loved one dressed in their own clothing, to provide our chapel room for family visits and to know when and at what time the cremation will be.
Funerals do not need to be expensive, and we will sit with you to discuss your thoughts and circumstances, whilst treating your loved one with the dignity and respect they deserve.
The last 2 years or so has seen so many issues within the funeral industry and we do not need this type of advertising.
