Today, we were humbled by this message of thanks from our partners in Nepal who have been deeply involved in the relief efforts. Who, despite landslides, heavy rain, blocked roads and overnight journeys, persevered to reach affected families, holding centres and health facilities. They have delivered hundreds of WASH kits, food packages, shelter kits, blankets, mattresses, mosquito nets, solar lights and essential medical and mobility supplies to people impacted by the floods. We are immensely proud and grateful to all our supporters who have donated to the relief work.

Three weeks since the devastating flash floods swept through villages, destroyed roads and collapsed bridges, our partners in Nepal continue to reach and support people who have been injured, traumatised, and left homeless. Almost 14,000 people have been rescued and over 9,000 have received treatment. The efforts of the rescue and medical teams in Nepal have been incredible, working through the most challenging conditions to reach communities cut off by the floods. Nepal has a long journey ahead in the recovery of this trauma, every donation counts to ensure that support reaches those who need it.

Hope is reaching families affected by the devastating floods in Nepal. ❤️

Emergency relief teams supported by EMMS International are continuing to reach survivors with medical care and essential supplies. Hundreds of relief packages have already been distributed, while healthcare teams provide treatment, medicines and support to vulnerable communities.

Many survivors have lost loved ones, homes and livelihoods. Children and older people are experiencing significant trauma, making ongoing support more important than ever.

NEPAL EMERGENCY APPEAL
Aid is reaching affected communities despite the rough roads and perilous journey. Teams of medical and non-medical staff—doctors, nurses, counsellors, and administrators - come together to help in a truly holistic way. Even critical supplies like diesel and LP gas have been provided, which has been invaluable. One local doctor expressed sincere thanks: “Please know that by supporting our hospital, you are also supporting the wider community, because we ensure that every resource we receive benefits those we serve. Your timely support has been critical in helping us meet immediate essential needs for both the hospital and the community. In the days ahead, we will remain closely coordinated with you.”

One week on from the devastating floods, urgent relief is providing a lifeline but the challenging conditions remain for so many. Teams on the ground in Nepal have reported: "Survivors are traumatized. Fear hangs heavy in the air, with families too shaken to come forward for aid, haunted by the thought of being caught in another flood. Their stories are filled with immense loss and the lasting scars of this disaster. There were many children and elderly in hysteria and shock, they could not turn off the sound of the waves in their heads and could not stop repeating what they saw."
